I worked at Noranco full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great people to work with

    Cons

It took me ~50 min to dive to work one way each day. Working 10-12 hours days gets to you after driving so long each day.

    Advice to Management

Thanks for the opportunity to work there.

    I worked at Noranco full-time

    Pros

    Good Experience and Competitive Pay.

    Cons

Very Unstable. Company survives off one customer... Honeywell. If they ever pull the plug the place will go out of business.

    Pros

This place was one the best places I have ever worked at. The people that work there are some of the best people out there.
I started my career in Aerospace at this company and I gained so much knowledge from so many smart people that were more than willing to teach.

    Cons

I was way overdue for a raise. They weren't willing to give me more money and pay what i/we were worth. I waited three years to get my review and a increase in pay. And when they gave me .25 cents, it was time to go.

    Advice to Management

    Words to management,
Pay people what they are worth. Keep them happy, with a happy employee the better job you will get from that person.
You lost some really good people cause of that.

I worked at Noranco full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people at the local level. Company has a lot of future potential.

    Cons

Corporate leadership style for the most part is commanding, autocratic and condescending. This style is naturally becoming part of the local management culture and has adversely affected employee turnover and morale.

    Advice to Management

    Listen more to local mid-management.

    Pros

None. Not even enough parking. But otherwise easy access from the I17 freeway. I can not find other complements so I have to fill in the 20 words with something.

    Cons

Management at the Phoenix Knudsen facility is rude and completely unprofessional. They manage thorough a culture of fear. In that they completely show that they are out of touch with modern methods of management. There is very little to no insight just might. When the turnover rate is high and they all leave for basically the same reason, it is time to find competent management or go bust.
OSHA violations galore. Not safe work environment. They have been fined in the past and they will be again soon.

    Advice to Management

Employee morale is at an all time low. Blue collar workers are beginning to get organized.

    Pros

If you need rent money, and McDonalds isn't hiring work here

    Cons

Have to keep track of your hours. HR department does not. Management is like hunting with a dog with no sense of smell(useless)

    Advice to Management

Find people with experience. This is an aerospace company.

    "Horrible place to work"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

There are none. If want to work holidays, every other weekend, treated bad, disrespected then this place is for you.

    Cons

Everything is done wrong. Bad management, poor planning, hiring planners that can plan, no one in management understands the customers or customer needs, just a bad place to work.

    Advice to Management

Hire folks that understand Aerospace and have Aerospace experience. Stop letting good people leave and get rid off the worthless leaders you have in place.

I worked at Noranco full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You will learn chaos theory FIRST HAND.
You will learn lots about aerospace machining.
    It’s a steady paycheck.
You can measure how you perform in a very demanding company.

    Cons

Very stressful place if you are accountable for anything.
The company is in big trouble with their main customer. Production parts are late and need OT to expedite. New programs are very late and Line Down soon. Money is being bled to feed the customer, and is not sustainable. Eventually heads will roll, and this is a vicious quarterly driven company. They layoff people to fix the quarterly reports.

    Advice to Management

Soon soon it will be time to pay the piper. All the years of playing with numbers and believing your own spin will come to a head. Fess up now to Regional leadership, or else the pit will get deeper.
