    Pros

    You get to network with professionals at federal institutions, pay isn't terrible

    Cons

    No benefits, program length far too long (5 years), many people treated like cheap employees rather than fellows, very difficult to contact ORISE leaders, only 10(!!!) days off per year

    Decent benefits. Pay/funds/travel is not coupled with the US government being open.

    Cons

    Taxes are not taken from paychecks and so you have to track that yourself to pay come tax time.
