    Pros

Good hours, clean working conditions, not expected to lift heavy

    Cons

Can be a pain if your manager is not friendly, e.g. excessive customer service when the customer just wants to be left alone.

    Advice to Management

Let customers approach the team members instead of trying to get in there face all the time.

I have been working at Officeworks full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Variety of products to sell. Busy times so you don't get bored. Fairly good pay. Training is ok, not the best way but ok.

    Cons

Running the store on a shoestring. Expected to cover the whole service floor with only two to three people. Management are bullies, HR are always on managers side, never listen to your side and have their minds made up. Very hard to get anywhere in the business

    Advice to Management

Communication between stores, in store, and upper level is very much lacking. Culture dynamics is very poor at best. Keeping layouts nearly identical between stores DOES NOT WORK FOR ALL STORES. you need to look at what works for each store, talk to your teams in the store to find out what works.

Unbelievably amazing team mates that you learn and grow with. Managers are ultra understanding too

    Advice to Management

    None.

    I worked at Officeworks part-time

    Pros

Your co-workers become your friends - inside and outside of work.

    Cons

The disconnection between management (or "co-ordinators" as they're called) and the rest of the team under them makes the job more difficult than it should be.

    Advice to Management

Support the team a little better and it'll go along way to helping reach those sales targets. After all, nobody wants to help someone they don't like, right?

I worked at Officeworks (More than a year)

    Pros

    Discounts
Opportunity to learn many category types

    Cons

Massive disconnect between senior management & frontline employees
Culture of bullying at area manager level
    Everybody is a number
    Massive amount of unpaid overtime
Senior management do not back up their team members
    Us & them
    Dated uniforms

    Advice to Management

"shut up whilst I tell you how well we listen" is not an effective way of communicating with your employees. There is a lot of talk but very little positive action.

Staff discounts are good, not much training is required, great for uni students and getting into a workforce.

    Cons

zero chance of a career, you require almost 10 years minimum to have any luck at a full-time position. zero communication from head office and managers. hours can be all over the place and at times devoid you of a social life.

    Advice to Management

LISTEN to your employees, we're the one's who keep your business running and do all the work.

    Pros

Great opportunities to move from role to role , gaining valuable experience. Generally they try to promote from within before going to the market. Everyone is willing to help each other achieve their work goals.

    Cons

Some of the senior leaders of the business are reclusive. Making it hard for proposals and changes to be heard.

    Advice to Management

Offer up more transparency, too many decisions made without including the teams that are affected.
