Pros

Great engineering challenges across the whole stack. Very talented engineers. Good volume of daily active users A/B testing

Cons

Company direction is not clear (multiple targets/directions) with impossible outcomes defined. Which led (again) to layoffs.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you found the engineering challenges across the stack engaging and that you valued working alongside such talented peers. It’s also great to know that the scale of our daily active users and our focus on A/B testing provided a rewarding environment for your technical growth. We also hear your serious concerns regarding the clarity of our company direction and the impact of the recent layoffs. We understand the frustration that comes when goals feel out of reach or when the company strategy seems to shift. Acknowledging the difficulty of these periods of change is important to us. Our leadership team is focused on providing a clear and achievable roadmap. We are working hard to ensure that our targets are realistic and that our long-term goals are well communicated and aligned across all departments. Our priority is to build a stable environment where our talented team can see exactly how their work contributes to our collective success. If you would like to share more specific thoughts on how we can better align our outcomes with our technical reality, please feel free to reach out to us at people@onefootball.com.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you valued our efforts toward work-life balance and that you found our learning & development budget beneficial. Supporting the professional growth and well-being of our team remains a priority for us. We hear your concerns regarding the salary levels in Portugal and the impact of the restructuring we’ve undergone over the past two years. We understand that these changes, driven by the need to reach profitability targets, have been difficult. We also take your feedback regarding the influence of Product Managers seriously. Together with our Product and Engineering leadership, we are focused on delivering a clear product vision, empowering our teams, and ensuring that Product Management has a meaningful seat at the table when strategic decisions are made. Our goal is to create a stable environment where every role has a clear impact on our success. If you’d like to share any more details about your experience or have further suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us at people@onefootball.com.

Pros

The engineering team is great to work with.

Cons

The company doesn't make money - is not profitable since it started running the business. The company cannot find revenue tracks to sustain profitability - at the same time invests on useless project that costs a lot of money: NFT, Web3, Marketplace It seems that the company is forced by its shareholders to move to this and that direction. Since I started in this company I faced 4 layoff rounds - all of them because the senior leadership made bad decisions or cannot drive the company to success. I still don't know what are the shareholders intentions to this company, if it's to create a successful and sustainable business, or run until IPO and runaway to get money back, or if it's to be profitable up to the point to sell the company. Unclear, uncertain and very risky future.
