I have been working at Orlando Magic (More than a year)

    Pros

Theres a lot of opportunity to work on some great projects.

    Cons

You will have to do projects that seem dull but are important to the businesses success.

I worked at Orlando Magic full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Young and vibrant staff
    Sports industry
    Always different and exciting
    Nice facilities!
    Amazing ownership

    Cons

    Owners are absent and naive
    Too many executives
Leaders are power hungry and egotistical
Ton of hours, little pay (holidays and weekends do not exist)
Serious sexism, favoritism, and nepotism practiced here!!

    Advice to Management

Take care of everyone, not just top tier personnel
Take examples from ownership and love your staff!
Grant equal advancement for everyone, not just your "favorites" or those who are able to do "favors"
Alex Martins is evil. Until he is gone, nothing will change and this place will continue to decline

I have been working at Orlando Magic full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with and the organization seems to truly care about its people. Try to make the workforce feel appreciated and keep things fun.

    Cons

Work life balance (as expected in the sports world). Management says to flex time but does not do so itself making it tough for their staff to actually flex.

    Advice to Management

Upper management is spread too thin at times. Need more middle management to share the work load and provide growth opportunities for other staff.

I worked at Orlando Magic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits + culture, best arena in NBA, great people

    Cons

Didn't anticipate Orlando City SC coming into the market; slightly arrogant on their part

I worked at Orlando Magic (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Working for a professional team

    Cons

A lot of standing and not enough gifts to the loyal fans.

    Advice to Management

Let employees go to the games free and family get a hugh discount.

I worked at Orlando Magic (More than a year)

    Pros

Really open to trying new things, exposure to upper management and executives, amazing employee appreciation (surprise days off, cocktail receptions, etc.) really great sense of community and company culture

    Cons

A little conservative for an NBA team

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at Orlando Magic (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good first sales job in sports. Great organization overall. If you can sell, you will make a good-living. Good people to work with.

    Cons

It is a job in sports, so it is hard to be successful and have work/life balance. Your success is tied to how the team is doing.

    Pros

Lots of people seem to get promotions every year

    Cons

Seems like a network of elite few that keep rising in the company. Many individuals have been there for 10+ years. Not too receptive to new ideas. They organization seems ok with status quo, innovation is not a priority for non c-suite programs
