I have been working at PODS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people! They not only speak it but walk the talk of "one team, one dream."

There are a lot of manual processes, but most of the management is open to change and finding better ways of doing things.

The organization cares for their employees like none other that I have seem, from PODS Cares to the Thanksgiving meals assistance to the gift tree assistance at Christmas! While they do support charities in the community, they take care of their own!

    Cons

From what I see, employees don't take responsibility for their own actions and play the blame game and then get upset when they are written up or termed.

Company is growing faster than they can keep up with due to outdated processes. However, they are looking to new talent to help them get to the next level.

    Advice to Management

Continue to drive accountability and change throughout the organization. "What got you here, won't get you there." Be open to changing from"this is the way we have always done it!" Think bigger.

I have been working at PODS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Getting to go home at the end of the day

    Cons

They change your job description every 3 months. Be aware that during busy season they are gravely understaffed and you are thrown on to the main call center lines, having a call coming in every 8 seconds for 8 hours a day. Do not be fooled by this company about an outbound sales position as Its just not true.

    Advice to Management

hire more people and make your self available.

I worked at PODS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best money I've made thus far, but could be better comparatively. Great idea and great customer service. And you can tell they're trying to do right, sometimes.

    Cons

Terrible work culture - nearly everyone in sales hates their job. The prices for the containers are way too damn high even in the winter months when they're supposed to be cheaper. Management doesn't care. Their point system is rigged to get you fired within a few months. And, they do mass hirings and mass firings. Their HR lady quit because of the poor practices she was forced to do. The whole system is rigged to make you either quit(which I did) or be fired within a 6-12 month timeline.

    Advice to Management

Take more care of your agents and realize that pushing them into a department they don't want may end up hurting you in the long run. Allow more transferring and don't keep people deadlocked. And stop the mass firings. I don't know how it helps the company when it probably costs you $5,000+ a person to train. Good luck!

I have been working at PODS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The starting wage is okay and the other drivers are great to work with, team oriented. Always on the go so the day goes by quickly.

    Cons

Too big of a workload and lots of driving in rush hour and local traffic with unrealistic goals to meet daily expectations

I worked at PODS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay ranging from $3000-3800 monthly depending on season. Good benefits. Free coffee. Nice building to work in.

    Cons

They put the conversion rate at an unrealistic unobtainable number. They place it right where most will fail, and the few who succeed are tiered for better calls. They will fire 80% of their employees after the busy season is over because they are not needed. Don't work here unless you want to find a new job in 6 months.

    Advice to Management

Needs to clear house on all upper management. A good trainer, and the last of the good managers quit due due to political nonsense and I don't blame them. The HR lady quit recently due to demands for unethical work practices.

I worked at PODS full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Starts at 14.00 an hour

    Cons

While working at Pods i was disgusted to witness how employees are treated.Hr could care less about their employees honestly.Trainers are not even knowledgeable on what their training because apparently things change so often and leadership is definitely not on the same page. The point system is the stupidest system i have ever heard of.You have no feeling of job security.Just the sense that you can and will be replaced. They want you to eat and breathe Pods once your hired and leave little to no room for a personal life.During the hiring process, recruiters, trainers and supervisors will really make you feel like you made the right decision and in less than a week you realize that was the farthest from the truth. You are monitored for how long and how many times you go to the bathroom, you have to pay to wear jeans (mind you we never see our customers) & they basically train you to lie to customers about the whereabouts of their container. The whole system of having employees call the actual storage location is so stupid and causes so many communication issues and long hold times for customers because you can never reach anyone at the location.Pods has great innovative ideas as far as the podzilla etc but its policies, drama filled staff and ridiculous point system make it hard for anyone to consider Pods for long term or permanent career choice.Turn over rate is ridiculous. Also, the prices for customers to rent a container is shy of robbery.Just absurd and ridiculous pricing!

    Advice to Management

STOP HIRING HUNDREDS OF NEW REPS AND DO A BRAND NEW FRESH HIRING OF THE ENTIRE LEADERSHIP STAFF, FROM TRAINERS, TO HR DEPT ETC.DO AWAY WITH YOUR POINT SYSTEM AND MAKE IT MORE HUMAN LIKE AND REALISTIC.ALSO MAKE IT TO WHERE REPS DONT HAVE TO CALL THE LOCATIONS AS OFTEN.CREATE A BETTER SYSTEM SO EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS ARENT SO FRUSTRATED WITH THE PROCESS.
