I have been working at Paperless Post full-time

    Pros

    - great work/life balance. be accountable for the work you sign up for; have flexibility in having a life outside of work. - leadership listens to everyone, the founders of the companies say hello to everyone in the hallways, and super approachable. - communication/alignment/tech continues to mature year after year. hasn't been a year that has gone by that i haven't seen noticeable growth in these key areas. - engineers...

    Cons

personally, i don't have any cons. this is the best job that i've had so far in my career. there are some "cons", but they are universal to any organization. i don't list them as cons because we are always working on them and improving on them. mostly revolving around communication, alignment, etc...

    Advice to Management

    - continue to improve on the key areas as we've been doing. - keep on communicating the vision. - communicate an even longer term vision (5 yrs out) for the product and technology.

I have been working at Paperless Post full-time for more than a year

    Pros

People are nice, the quality of work and the work life balance is great. Flexibility on work from home, work hours. Great culture and benefits. We have bagel monday's and sprint ending presentations and parties where everyone gathers and celebrates. Overall I walk in happy on Monday's, I think that matters most to me than anything else.

    Cons

Small company means less room for growth.

    Advice to Management

We should more aggressively market the product to new users along with cross selling. (great job on hiring Head of Growth).

I have been working at Paperless Post full-time

    Pros

More than anything else, Paperless Post is made-up of a strong team who take pride in their work. I learn from the people here more than any other job I've been at

    Cons

The business is mid-transition between a legacy and new product, and it can be awkward to balance priorities

    Advice to Management

It's exciting to see things growing. Users love the products we make, but we need to think carefully about managing various priorities as the new product takes off

I have been working at Paperless Post full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Paperless Post is the place to be. A very diverse staff which makes creative thinking very easy within the teams. Unlimited WFH days as long as they are pre-approved

    Cons

Missing updates is very easy if you are not paying attention to your slacks channel since there are so many updates.

I have been working at Paperless Post full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The title says it all. Paperless Post today is a different company than it was years back. Period. And we're all happier for it. Full disclosure: I'm writing this because I just came out of an awesome 1:1 with my manager and I figured I'd show it off somewhere. From a work perspective: We're a no BS organization that values and listens to the great people on the team. Leadership is especially good at pinpointing...

    Cons

If you're on glassdoor because you're considering an opportunity with Paperless Post, good. Here's the list: - Very specific teams work crazy hours and weekends (but of course, this is made up for with the opportunity to work from home the following day, and of course, the 20 PTO days we're given by default etc) - Bring back Welcome on-boarding sessions with all teams so new folks (and old) understand what each...

    Advice to Management

Please keep focusing on company culture. Please keep refining Flyer because at the end of the day we all want it to succeed. Keep listening to Content Design and Product and continue to listen to the folks who are willing to give you input. The people who care are the only ones who'll share. There's a lot of value in that. My Thumbs up for CEO is not just because of James, but because of Alexa too. There isn't enough...

I have been working at Paperless Post full-time

    Pros

Paperless Post has the best of both worlds: freedom to be agile and pick latest technologies without setbacks, and stability of 10 year old mature business. Paperless is a startup but with over 10 years it has all the logistics figured out, and has millions of customers who love our products. Its just like working for any of the really big boys, all the benefits etc, and none of the bureaucracy. The beauty of it is that...

Company is growing, and at times we only become aware of new initiatives when other departments do a new release and announce it. Would love to have more exposure of all the new developments in the making.

I have been working at Paperless Post full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - I enjoy the people at Paperless. - I've been here a while and the team is consistently full of smart, humble people who take pride in their work - Users are passionate about the product - The new product is noticeably different from the original e-invitations and people are excited about it

    Cons

After a reorg in 2017 some people were upset and it took a while for things to settle into place again. Since then the team has really found their footing.

    Advice to Management

Keep being honest about issues, so we can solve them and move onto the next most important thing.

I have been working at Paperless Post full-time for less than a year

    Pros

PP has been around 10 years and is an industry leader. The company has worked towards finding product-market-fit for a new product and is in growth mode. Lots of exciting greenfield work happening right now using the latest stack(react, redux, graphql, kubernetes, golang). The company's leadership is very open and transparent(regular town-halls, 360' feedback, etc). Not to mention they have great benefits, flexible work...

    Cons

The holiday season can be a bit hectic since that's the time when PP makes the most revenue. I guess that's a good problem to have.

    Pros

+great beer and snack selection +excellent parties and team events +some employees are genuinely talented, want to do right by the customers and company +no stressful deadlines because nobody is keeping track of your project work +ample PTO for most employees +Pay for salaried positions is usually okay, for tech roles it's pretty great +Nice, recently renovated office in FiDi is easy to get to, and there's plenty...

    Cons

-Not all full-timers are eligible for the same benefits packages, FT Hourly employees do not receive PTO or holiday pay -The leadership team can be deceitful, as was shown in May when almost 20% of the workforce was laid off only a few weeks after a townhall meeting called "growing 5 times our size" -The company has tried to spin the unexpected layoffs as a necessary evil directly related to the sunset of its paper...

    Advice to Management

I urge you to consider the position you've put your employees in: you have an opportunity to rework what could be a beautiful product and instead you've gutted your online support team because they were too expensive, disregarded the need for phone support, killed projects that employees put their hearts into for years, stifled creativity, and continue to be "yes" men/women to the company founder. Think creatively, be...

I worked at Paperless Post full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The most amazing office culture I've ever had the pleasure of being part of. HR does a great job of maintaining clear communication channels. The leadership team is involved and try to be as forthcoming as possible. Work/life balance! I was on a team that worked directly with the customer and I never felt pressured to always "rise to the call of duty" when things got crazy. Instead, I did it because I wanted to contribute....

    Cons

Lack of accountability. When things would break, or dev would ship code that wasn't 100% up to snuff, it would directly affect PP's revenue and there were no repercussions for the dev team. Because of the size of the company, getting to know individuals outside of your team can be difficult. Integrating yourself can be challenging at first. May 2017 was a difficult month because PP restructured their business model...

    Advice to Management

I know you'll bounce back from the lay offs. I still believe in PP and the product. Continue to raise morale, and be transparent about decision making.
