I have been working at Performance Contracting full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Most people are good to work with. Bonuses can be good.

    Cons

There are some politics, different rules for different people. Everything money driven.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone fairly. Dont adjust bonuses. If the branch earned 100% give 100% to everyone.

I worked at Performance Contracting full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    ESOP. Great money & benefits

    Cons

Rude and crude environment. HR is an 800 number to voice any issues. Don't expect any follow up. Management embraces the out dated harsh construction environment. Expect to be offended. It's rewarded.

    Advice to Management

    Grow up.

    Pros

PCI has a Great benefit package. The field workers are knowledgeable. The corporate staff are helpful. Company utilizes the latest in technologies available.

    Cons

Management is very closed minded and does not encourage employees to think outside the box. Too many layers of management. Management often encourages backstabbing and deception between peers.

    Advice to Management

Perform 360 degree evaluations of all positions.

I worked at Performance Contracting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and frequent happy hours

    Cons

The Corporate Politics game is serious business here. You have to be play it, and play it well. The IT department in specific is full of backstabbing and favorites get the best treatment while others are left behind. You can ask for training but it doesn't mean you'll get it. The department head focuses more on corporate politics and her social standing than improving the department.

    Advice to Management

IT Management - you get upset about your employees badmouthing the department but never actually address the cause of the problems. And you say you're open to suggestions and try to improve morale by you're two-faced and manipulative.

    Pros

Great benefits, good interaction with other employees

    Cons

Thrown under the bus, supporting a brand-new application with very little training or assistance from coworkers.

    Advice to Management

Don't expect new employees to support an application they have just learned to a nationwide company without giving them time to ramp up!

I worked at Performance Contracting full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

All world compensation packages (High salary, high bonuses, nice insurance plan, great retirement)

Opportunity to travel, if desired, and the company has a lot of buying power in different regions of the US

Additional perks - Company vehicle, gas card, a lot of company holidays and vacation days as you climb the ladder

    Cons

As others have stated, it's a very aggressive environment, and a lot of back-stabbing goes on

The hours can be unbearable sometimes, and work-life balance is not something they promote

Each branch is really different. I worked in one for 10+ years with limited issues, moved for the company, and then was let go within 2 years of my move

    Advice to Management

Go back to the way things were 6-7 years ago. The company grew so fast: too fast! It is still employee owned, and the benefits are great, but you can't "buy" a family environment. Go back to caring about your people, growing your people, and stop treating them like a commodity who's happiness can be bought.

    Pros

Technically advanced in tracking aspects of projects equating to tracking the cash flow of projects. They taught me a lot on the capabilities, methods out there that I personally was not familiar with.

    Cons

They we're a great group to work with.

I worked at Performance Contracting (Less than a year)

    Pros

They bring you in as a contractor promising you to convert you once your contract is over. They talk about the company is the best around and people are always trying to get hired there. They do sometimes buy you lunch which is nice. Their pay is pretty high compared to other companies.

    Cons

They will let you go in a heartbeat without warning and then act like you were the worst employee they ever had. It is a back stabbing company and good ole boy system you will be fine if you're friends with the right people. They will move you around to accommodate their veteran employees and expect you to learn a new job you were never trained on in a short period like a few weeks or will let you go and tell you that you're not PCG material. This is after they tell you how great you were in your previous role you have been at for months and months.

    Advice to Management

Provide more training and stop promising candidates something if you're going to turn around and not honor contracts.

I worked at Performance Contracting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

By far the best benefits I have ever seen along with an excellent retirement.

    Cons

Sometimes extremely long hours along with extended work from family and home.

    Advice to Management

I enjoyed working for pci but if there is a so called policy for anonymous reporting of ethics they should make it just that anonymous. I feel I was let go because it was easier to let a lower tier employee go rather than to take care of the problem of branch managers that abuse their positions.
