Pros

A short 4 day work week.

Cons

Used to be a good place to work until the management on third shift changed. Several people have quit recently. People who have been there for years. The new management knows nothing about screen printing. They have no idea how to help when you have a problem. The only thing they care about is production numbers. The whole management team on third is new. They will approve a run and then write you up when it is not right even though they approved it. The turnover rate is through the roof. The breaks are very short. They give you perks and then use those perks as leverage to get you to do what they want. For example, they switched from five 8 hour days to four ten hour days. Then they threaten to switch back to five 8 hour days if others are not having good attendance. They will promise you more money but never give you the money.

Pros

Most of the other operators were great to work with, and the work itself was pretty easy.

Cons

Leadership has zero humility, they are petty about everything and will write you up with a final warning for criticizing leadership and tell you if you do it again you're gone. Then at the same time, they will say don't be afraid to come and talk to us if there is a problem... that's a total lie. You will be told you can't have food on the floor and then the zone leader will bring in food for people to have on the floor the same day they said people can't in a daily meeting. They are hypocritical liars through and through. HR will defend this behavior and they will defend leadership but never support or defend you as a normal employee. Everything on their website about how they treat employees and culture and core values is important to them is completely false they do not care about you as an employee at all. They will make it seem like it's a great place to be but it's all a facade. Also, you will get written up for sitting around doing nothing when there is no work to do and the zone lead will lie about what they did to stop it. You can't sit around and play cards when there is no work to do but you can sit at a station and talk about nothing and also not work but it seems like you are busy so they won't write you up because of the false perception that you are working which everyone knows no one is and HR is ignorant enough to think people are talking about work-related stuff and training. lol Also from my understanding, Perrin will violate trade embargoes with some of their clients in Canada which can't have clothing made from certain countries with known child labor so they will cut the tags off and replace them with new versions of tags that say made in America... so thats cool. If you have any problems there at all shut your mouth or they will actively twist any scenario they can to get rid of you. They will even blame you for not giving them the info and time they need to decide on a temporary change in the schedule even though you did it in writing and you followed up every single day until the change started and you had a zone lead tell you you would have an answer in time but you never got one. I guess HR and leadership don't know how to read...

Pros

Great people if you're in Production and have no contact with the Merchandising, Sales, the CFO or President. Weekly pay checks. Good benefits for affordable rates for single people, but married and family the rates are quite high.

Cons

There's a big culture of fear from the executive team at Perrin and the president promotes that by micro managing and encouraging his leadership team to lead as he does. The front office is a very quiet environment. So are the creative art and separations areas. Its so quiet its depressing, and not a fun environment to work in. There is no vision from the executive team in terms of a yearly sales goal, and consequently no monthly or quarterly updates on where the company is throughout the year. This is supposed to be an employee owned company but the employees are kept in the dark except for a once a year update. There is a board of directors made up of the former owner, the CFO and president but it is unclear if/when they meet or what the board does for the company. Again, employee owned, but the employees are in the dark about what the leadership team is doing to move the company forward and grow the business. They have core values posted throughout the building. One being Integrity. In my time there I personally witnessed the company swap out garment neck labels so that the country of origin would not state Haiti for specific customers who specify they do not want goods from Haiti. That is not acting with integrity. Teamwork is another core value, but acting as a team is discouraged between the front office and back/production areas. There's lots more going on there that needs to be dealt with in terms of upper management. Ideally the President should move back to a Sales role, and a CEO should be hired as well as a COO and CIO to drive change in operations and IT. There are some great people there who want a better work environment, better leadership and better more efficient systems to support their work load, but under the current structure that will not happen anytime soon.
