    Pros

Best work environment I've experienced in my long career. Management is very supportive of the employees, always available and encouraging. I never felt like I was just a cog in a wheel, but felt like a valuable part of a high performing team.

    Cons

Several of the positions are in support of a client, instead of directly supporting Pinkerton. If the contract ends, so can your position. As a contractor, your salary is set by the client.

I have been working at Pinkerton full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

This iconic company is follows a set of values set down in 1852, but are timeless: Integrity, excellence and vigilance. The whole company is in a rising growth period, and those able to adapt well to dynamic and challenging environments will find themselves right at home here. If you require rigid structure to feel good about your job, you'll probably want to keep looking; the company values well-communicated ideas almost as much as it values flawless execution and attention to detail.

    Cons

Pinkerton demands nothing short of one's best effort, and for salaried people that means long days, many weekends, and interrupted social events are the norm. If you're looking for a work-life balance that promotes a vibrant social life outside of work, you will probably be disappointed. But this is a place where you get out of it what you put into it.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more with employees. Be more transparent about changes in direction and the reasons for them. Keep focused on growing the culture with the business. Secure better benefits plan.

I have been working at Pinkerton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A little more peace since most of all management has been removed.

    Cons

Same old practices, no structure, always rushing, management doesn't communicate with all employees, only a couple privilege ones. Management doesn't appreciate employees, constantly asking for more but nothing is giving in return. Employee morale is horrible and management truly doesn't care, just do it! is what we hear on a daily basis, you never hear anything positive, whether you do a great job or you are a lazy employee everyone gets the same, there is not insensitive to do better because there is no rewards or any type of goals. Based on the amount of work company is growing but we constantly received lies, Company is not doing good, we are not making money,is all you hear. LIES

    Advice to Management

Hire appropriate management knowledgeable of the business with education on how to run properly a business, keep your promises of included PES Operations as part of the company, be truthful with employees. Get rid of employees that worked overtime all the time without really producing. Make employees and management accountable for their actions.

I have been working at Pinkerton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Straight forward work (depending on security/protection experience)
    - Paid on time
    - Benefits

    Cons

    - Managers are less competent than expected
    - No training opportunities to expand protection skills
    - Convoluted on boarding process, I dealt with three people and all asked the same questions regarding my background/experience. Then had Client interviews which ultimately determined eligibility.
    - Unless you work only one site, the time management system is complicated and is not explained at all in the beginning.
    - On site training was not specific and haphazardly put together. You cannot expect someone to not make some mistakes when there is no formal process by which to learn basics.

    Advice to Management

If you expect agents to protect VIPs make sure they are being sent to schools at least annually to make sure their general proficiencies are kept at a high level.

I worked at Pinkerton part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

$16 an hour for secure site access control. Money is decent considering the amount of effort is minimum. I just sat at a kiosk all day and checked employees and sometimes cargo into the site. It was just a contract, so if it works for you then it's a decent experience.

    Cons

One kiosk had climate control, the other one didn't, so sometimes shifts were uncomfortable. Also, you're not allowed to have any entertainment (aka distractions), so expect to be bored out of your mind.

    Advice to Management

My supervisor was a good guy. It was a pretty hands-off experience between upper management and my supervisor, so it was easygoing.
