    Pros

Very flexible, Very nice supervisors and co-workers, Great summer job, You get to create your schedule each week, which is very helpful. This is a very nice summer job.

    Cons

You work outside everyday, so it can get very hot. It is best to time your schedules accordingly. This is not a good long-term, full-time job. It is better as a summer job, or similar. Work is seasonal

    Advice to Management

I would recommend streamlining training. It can be hard to learn if you have no experience in the tasks. Having a supervisor there only one day a week can be hard.

    Pros

Extra Flexible schedule, work on your time, work outside. Enjoy the freedom of independent work.

    Cons

Lots of driving, no benefits package. Rely heavily on the customers your vend for. Often times allowing them to dictate the direction.

    Advice to Management

Have your employees back, often times Plant Essentials senior staff will take the route of throwing us under the bus to ensure they are okay.

I have been working at Plant Essentials full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A large degree of autonomy, creative opportunities, working outside, getting to help people who have no idea about plants plan and take care of their gardens.

    Cons

No benefits or retirement plan, it's not year-round work, dealing with Lowes staff can be frustrating from time to time.

I have been working at Plant Essentials full-time

    Pros

Working with beautiful flowers is a plus. Get to make your own schedule and meet great people. Options to make displays with plants and shrubs is a fun way draw customers in to get creative ideas.

    Cons

No discounts, 401K, or benefits. Pay could be a little better as traveling to different stores puts wear and tear on your personal vehicle.
Blackout dates for May and June are crazy busy.
Working with Lowes Garden Center staff is sometimes challenging depending on the store.
Communication between Lowes and PE could be better as far as changes being made to GC.

    Advice to Management

Katie is a fantastic Area Manager. 😊
Always available when needed and she has good ideas as well.

    Pros

Plant Essentials is a new experience ever day and allows me to be independent, professional and flexible.

    Cons

Our clients have high expectations and that challenges me to problem solve and stay active in my work...more of an ever changing bar to reach than a con.

    Advice to Management

    I'm listening...what can I do better?
