I worked at Plant Essentials part-time

    Pros

Felix able hours, exercise, sun, lots of variety of sea life. Some friendly dolphins, wise seals and beautiful fishes. Birds with great songs who sing loudly when it rains. The other crew members can row the boat or just sit around out of the way, which does not get in my way of getting my work done, so can leave work with a sense of accomplishment. They pay better than minimum wage.

    Cons

There be sharks in the waters too. The captain does listen the first mate so the boats are ill equipped, crew poorly trained yet the officers are always yelling there she blows after her you salty sea dogs. Many in charge don't even understand the laws of nature but some do. yet for the crew members It's a sink, swim or row thing so you have to come prepared. but they don't pay a living wage.

    Advice to Management

At least take care of the crew if you are going to chase the great white whale. This is not Hacksaw Ridge.

I have been working at Plant Essentials part-time

    Pros

Little to no supervision at all here.

    Cons

    Nosey co workers.
    Pay is bi weekly
    Little to no training
    Inexperienced Management
Lowes doesnt have enough knowledgeable staff to assist
Too many plants to organize. They always die.

    Advice to Management

Train the employees. Train them seriously. This ismt the first time youve heard that Im sure. With the propper training this could be a nice part time job. Never a full time job. 0 Career opportunity here.

I have been working at Plant Essentials part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hours are flexible, work is enjoyable, people are nice. The work environment is pleasant. You get to learn about plants.

    Cons

The pay is okay for what it is, but I wouldn't really want to do this for a long term career. I don't know if there is a lot of room to advance or develop.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up! It might be nice to have a little more structured training or opportunity to learn, such as Webinars on different plants, etc.

I worked at Plant Essentials part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can, usually, set your own hours; depending on the requirements of the site you are assigned.

    It is seasonal work (April-July & November-December).

    Cons

It takes 1 month before you get your first paycheck, plus you have to pay for your vest. Also have to provide your own work gloves.

If you do not like physical labor (moving racks of plants, lifting bending, etc), that can be messy sometimes, then this is not the job for you.

    Advice to Management

Supervisors are tied to the Plan-O-Gram. But every store/location is different. If the area only has enough space to set up 10 tables, there is no way to put in 20 tables worth of merchandise.

    Pros

Very flexible, Very nice supervisors and co-workers, Great summer job, You get to create your schedule each week, which is very helpful. This is a very nice summer job.

    Cons

You work outside everyday, so it can get very hot. It is best to time your schedules accordingly. This is not a good long-term, full-time job. It is better as a summer job, or similar. Work is seasonal

    Advice to Management

I would recommend streamlining training. It can be hard to learn if you have no experience in the tasks. Having a supervisor there only one day a week can be hard.

    Pros

Extra Flexible schedule, work on your time, work outside. Enjoy the freedom of independent work.

    Cons

Lots of driving, no benefits package. Rely heavily on the customers your vend for. Often times allowing them to dictate the direction.

    Advice to Management

Have your employees back, often times Plant Essentials senior staff will take the route of throwing us under the bus to ensure they are okay.
