    Pros

Plusnet gives you the space & opportunities to get involved with much more than many businesses of this size. It expects a lot but you get more experience to give you a solid base to move on later down the line.

    Cons

Sometimes it can be very focused on the short term rather than longer term, strategic investments. Big scopes can be a good thing but workloads can be an issue.

    Advice to Management

Invest in the right areas to set you up for the future - it could be an incredible business.

I worked at Plusnet (Less than a year)

    Pros

People - some amazing dedicated people
    Office location

    Cons

    Lack of progression
    Unclear direction from management
    Culture of favouritism
No 'one team' mentality despite it being a value
Lots of young people looking to progress willing to tread on others to get where they want to be - and take credit for others work!
Do more with less approach to everything - if customers or BT only knew the half of what goes on....!! And no reward given to hard workers unless your face fits

I worked at Plusnet (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked as a Customer Service Advisor/Provisioning Advisor. Of these types of roles it is one of the better offices to work at in Leeds. Free lunch was provided every weekday whilst I worked there which was a great gesture (and showed that they valued their workforce). There are also decent perks through using the BT Perks facility that you are elligible for as an employee due to Plusnet being part of BT's family.

The colleagues I worked with on the whole were well-rounded and sociable people and I still talk with some of those people now.

    Cons

There were of course those who were solely focused on results and achievement which is great for the business but can alienate people. If every conversation revolves around work and driving profit, it becomes boring fast. A greater breadth of conversation with some work colleagues would have been nice to see.

    Advice to Management

Its hard to balance the expectations of your management, your team staff and the customer base. But it is your responsibility. Just remember that with the pushing for good results to be human too. Someone was good to you when they gave you the chance to progress in the business at some point.

    stressful at times.
    abusive customers.
management always favoritise some employees who kiss backside
    office hygiene is terrible.

I have been working at Plusnet full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    No cold calling , much
Free food (same pay grade as my dogs)
Good salary if you can work like a demon a great salary

    Cons

Poor conflicted management, lack of cohesive direction, what's punishment one day is policy another, favouritism, treated like a child, a lot are.

    Advice to Management

We are not machines, training/education and clarity need more focus, development if desired seems strangely structured, and sometimes pay is wrong, I suggest you promote/allow a union (the CWU); anyway I'm not paid to think :)

I have been working at Plusnet full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Free phone line, broadband & TV.
Good wage, but more generous if you have a nice manager who levels you farly or generously and/or overtime is going.
A lot of great people work on the floor.
Potential to work SAS shifts which are 3 days per week and involve 6 less hours a week for full time wages.
If you work hard and get noticed, you can ppotentially progress within the company.
    Free parking.
    None uniform.
    Games room without surveillance.
Free food for those who are in on weekdays.
    Free water, coffee & tea.
    Wireless headsets.
It is possible to be very happy at the company and feel blessed you work there.

    Cons

Do not follow the law when it comes to disciplinary and dismissals.
Senior Management are completely out of touch and overpaid fools.
Levelling/bonus system is designed to provide control over advisors and restrict the amount of bonuses paid.
    Politics are rife.
Some bullying/blatant treating people different from specific team leaders.
Do not have much empathy, interest or flexibility for people's life outside of work.
Do not reward tenure and experience meaning the best staff leave in the end, without fail.
Always two steps behind when it comes to pay reviews, technology, engineering and most things else.
They will ask for ways to make staff livessels better than absolutely tear it apart because it doesn't benefit the business.
Brown nosing management is commonplace and half the time or more, it works meanwhile other more deserving, skilled and hardworking agents are left behind or not given credit.

    Advice to Management

Have the balls to be different and try make a difference to the con list rather than being a yes man/woman as all the con list doesn't take away from the pro list and it's frustrating that the company shoot them self in the foot.

I worked at Plusnet full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the people that work there are some of the most amazing people I've ever worked with
    Free broadband and phone
    Free food on weekdays
Free tea and coffee if you like that sort of thing
    Chance of good shifts
Perks scheme is good to a degree

    Cons

Call queues are an absolute joke
Too much of a focus on stats
If you don't like tea and coffee you're pretty much left out in the dark
They tend to make things up as they go along, introducing policies when needed that aren't actually written anywhere and god forbid you should ask to see these golden scriptures
Not much freedom to fix customer relations, especially if you believe the customer is right
Don't even THINK about getting ill, or you'll be caught in a sea of arguing for your basic human rights
    Bullying behaviour by certain managers

    Advice to Management

Trust your staff more. Keep them happy so you can keep your customers happy. Stop worrying so much about what things cost and sort everything out. The management is the reason most staff leave. Trust me.
