I have been working at Realtor.com full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have been with the company a few years now, what I’ve noticed is significant change, growth & opportunity for employees to capitalize. I have progressed through a few roles with the company and have enjoyed every step.

Fabulous experience that has been challenging & exceedingly rewarding. Competitive pay with great benefits. Not everyone has the opportunity to get on first-name basis with the Executive Team; I have been that fortunate & could not say enough positive things about those individuals.

    Cons

    Nothing really here. Highly recommend

    Advice to Management

Keep up the hard work paying attention to the details & fine tuning those areas. Continue to be a superior work place with career opportunities & advancement for all to strive.

    I have been working at Realtor.com full-time

    Pros

Salary is okay. There is a coffee machine and snacks.

    Cons

Embarrassing maternity leave policy (10 days paid)
Payroll debacles resulting in financial crises for employees
Blind spots from executives that allows *horrible* managers to ascend
Incredibly high turnover in key departments
Lack of trust in leaders due to passive aggressive and opaque communication styles
    Product woefully behind competitors
Little to no room for advancement
Employees who work hard with heads down lose out on promotions to sycophants

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes to your legacy hires that moved into b2c positions from outdated b2b roles. They are dragging down your business and driving out good people.

I have been working at Realtor.com full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good Work Life Balance and have tremendous opportunity to learn new everyday

    Cons

Benefits could be better since some were very basic for a silicon valley company

    Pros

    - Competitive salaries
    - Good benefit options
    - Strong sense of community
    - Lots of team building opportunities
    - Ability to maintain healthy work/life balance
    - Lots of opportunity for upward mobility

    Cons

    - Leasing "realtor.com" from the NAR (National Association of REALTORS) means the NAR has input on company direction and initiatives. The real estate industry is shifting, and competitors such as Zillow and Redfin are adapting to the change, but the NAR's old school mentality is holding realtor.com back.

    - Every time you tell someone you work for "realtor.com," they are going to assume you sell real estate (not a terrible con, but it will make you realize what a problem brand awareness is)

    Advice to Management

    - The company is making strides to stay relevant, such as acquiring Opcity, but more needs to be done to stay competitive in the long run

    - If realtor.com wants to compete with the rest of silicon valley to acquire and maintain top talent, the executive team needs to adapt a more progressive mindset for the company

    - "Butts in seats" management style is outdate
