Pros

Gives you great experience to take with you to another company --nice jumping off point.

Cons

Lack of upward mobility. Management and colleagues are the furthest thing from transparent with their clients --too many false reports. The office culture is catty and vacant most days which creates a depressing environment to work in.

Empty Promises, Empty Chairs

Pros

There are still some good people who still work here. A small handful anyway. Work hours are pretty decent. You don't often have to work weekends.

Cons

Nobody is happy to come to work anymore. And many have stopped coming permanently, they quit. Communication is terrible from the top down. Morale is in the toilet, and for valid reasons. It's pretty unanimous. Unless you believe those reviews posted by HR to try and stem the onslaught of the inevitable. They try and ask us to write them too. We all know you're trying to pad reviews here on Glassdoor. We don't appreciate it. Trust me, we want to write good reviews. Give us some reasons too. Then ask. You won't have to when that time comes. The execs who drove this company into its current dire situation, blame everyone but themselves. They seem perplexed. They can't fathom why on earth they see constant failure. Even though, the reasons stem from their own actions. They don't invest in their people. They don't provide resources. They don't provide the time. Salaries fall short. They promise things and don't deliver. The culture sucks, we don't even have any. HR seems to think a newsletter is all it takes.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. Know that management understands and appreciates the value, hard work, and dedication each employee brings to the company. We are extremely disappointed in hearing that you feel we’ve fallen short in communicating this to the team. blinkx encourages an ongoing dialogue between team members throughout all levels of the organization and hope that each employee knows they are welcome to bring issues to HR, their manager, or the executive team directly at any time. We take yours, and all employee feedback, very seriously. Can you e-mail us at blinkxcares@blinkx.com to discuss further?

Crumbling

Pros

Free lunches once a week. Since so many people left/got laid off, it gave you the opportunity for growth/leverage for an early promotion to keep you around. Some great people but with constant drama in the office, that could only go so far.

Cons

Minimal managerial support with a very blase attitude about things. On my way out, I was frequently told "things are going to get better" for months to no avail. The only thing management was good at was dragging their feet. Management is very unprofessional and clearly plays favoritism. Company does not foster a help-each-other culture and it was very each-man-for-their-own. A lot of internal bickering between teams. With recent acquisition, people are lining up out the door one by one. Each week, the question is "who's leaving this week?" leading to a negative workplace environment. No work culture or interaction between teams, this is a very work is separate from personal. With so many people leaving (the SF office went from 110 to less than 50 people within 11 months), work continuously gets piled on you with no intentions to backfill roles. The company has a whole has a pretty bad reputation in the AdTech sphere for its fraudulent practices (see AdExchanger article regarding lawsuit with DataXu). Purchasing a multitude of companies disjointly for the sake of buying companies with no real goal.
