I worked at SBA for more than a year

      Pros

Good benefits, nice office, successful company, busy pace.

      Cons

Management are bullies. Employees are expendable. Career advancement is limited.

      Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. The majority of them are uncomfortable going to management with difficulties because they are treated as whistle blowers, bullied into being miserable. Eventually let go or made to feel they have no alternative but to seek employment elsewhere.

        I worked at SBA full-time

        Pros

Working in an environment short of resources forces you to acquire skills you wouldn't otherwise have access to if you were in a role of a larger corporation

        Cons

The lack of resources often leads to an overabundance of work that may be ineffective due to time limitations and the need to produce solutions quickly.

        Advice to Management

Re-evaluate the program goals and delivery outlined in the grant, explore the strengths of your talent pool and invest in the time needed to effectively restructure.

I worked at SBA full-time for more than a year

        Pros

        1- Nice mission 2- A paycheck

        Cons

1- Welcome to prison at SBA headquarters: Managers give BAD performance rating to GOOD employees and at the same time, managers do everything they can to prevent staff from getting a batter job somewhere else (because managers need to keep the good employees, but treat staff poorly). 2- Very bad management, in all meanings, all over DC headquarters. 3- Toxic work environment. SBA has been repeatedly ranked...

        Advice to Management

Administrator has no idea of what happens with managers/staff here, as managers cover each other's butt.
