      Great boss who was the founder and my friend. Clever guy who trusted me to do my job with great results

      Small team and fairly static from a problem perspective. However the problem domain was deep and interesting. Still a lot of untapped potential in energy management generally

      Great (and perhaps overused) application of procedures and ISO standards.

      Cons

      From what I understand STC Energy has now been taken over by another company - which can only be a good thing. I worked here for a few years and it was genuinely a miserable experience. Staff are discouraged to show any sign of personality, management is overbearing, nepotism and favouritism is blatant and overall lacks a healthy office atmosphere. The work itself is fine, can be a bit tricky at times (as expected) but the salary does not reflect the amount of specialist knowledge and work required of an Account Manager. No room for growth.

      Pros

      Individual's strengths are employed quickly, and there is a fair level of responsibility. Training is given for all new staff in the software system used.

      Cons

      There is no corporate structure, which minimises career growth. Micro managed from a board level.
