I have been working at STO full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Employees work hard but mostly out of fear. Negative atmosphere behind the scenes that is only apparent when management is not around. Common behavior in a culture of fear.

    Cons

Disorganized. Competing hidden agendas. Highly political. Results tracking below market in rapidly growing industry. A lot of management, but zero leadership. Huge favoritism to specific selected employees that do what they are told.

    Advice to Management

Ownership needs to get involved to understand that the company performance is only moving with the market. Not built, focused or managed for long-term growth.

I have been working at STO (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Sto has a great culture. The company cares about people and gives them a real chance to voice their opinions about how to help grow the company. Sto gives people freedom and support to really become experts in their fields.

    Cons

Advancement opportunities are limited. Compensation is a big problem. I have spoken to head hunters who have actually laughed when they hear what my base salary is. It is very easy to find the same job at a different company and earn about $20 - $30K more annually.

    Advice to Management

Senior management needs to talk to each other. The company has a lot of potential but it has been losing it's best people for the last 5 - 6 years because no one can agree on direction. Offer competitive compensation to your employees or you will lose the good ones that you still have.

They try to take care of you as far as the pay is concerned

    Cons

Upper management trusts its long time employees too much when it come to making a conclusions or decsions when deciding the fate of some of their employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep being an innovator! PLEASE get some new blood to manage your facilities. You need to have managers that don't make decisions based their personal feelings.
