Pros
At Schellman you will be treated like a team member and not an excel spreadsheet cell holder. We all work together on projects and people of all levels help to make sure you are successful. Our benefits are truly the best with the 10% 401K matching and the profit sharing bonuses quarterly. We also have great Health, Dental and Vision Insurance.
Cons
The only real con I can think of is the 100% remote work for most of the team. I enjoy working from home but sometimes I miss the personal interaction of showing up to an office once in a while. this may go away once we start traveling a little more.
Continue readingThank you for taking the time to provide your feedback! We appreciate hearing about your personal experience, and all the benefits that you enjoy. The past couple of years has been difficult for a lot of people with the increase in remote work. In-person meetings and get togethers are very important to our culture and the team environment. For this reason, it was important for us to bring back our company trip this year, in addition to encouraging teams to meet more often throughout the year. Please let us know if you have any suggestions or additional feedback at any time by contacting leadership at feedback@schellman.com.

Pros
I couldn't be happier at Schellman. Work barely feels like a "job" with the people, leadership team and my role here. I would highly recommend Schellman to anyone in the industry. The benefits package is unmatched, with 6 weeks of total time off (3 weeks of PTO and 3 weeks of company shut down), summer Fridays, completely covered employee healthcare and 10% 401k match. What further sets Schellman apart is the management group. Our leadership team is not only a group of very intelligent and hard working individuals but they are also approachable and unassuming. They are receptive to feedback and gracefully take constructive criticism. While we've had some growing pains, they recognize when problems arise and are transparent about missteps and shortcomings. Overall, I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of the Schellman team. The benefits are unbeatable, and the supportive and trustworthy leadership team is what will keep me here for the long haul.
Cons
Our technology is outdated and while Schellman is actively working on updating and improving its systems, the current processes are quite manual and inefficient.

Amazing workplace!
May 15, 2023 - Anonymous Employee in Tampa, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Excellent leadership Friendly and helpful teammates True Work/Life balance Unmatched benefits I've worked for a couple great companies over the years, but Schellman is hands down the greatest! From the CEO down, everyone is approachable, personable, helpful, and authentic. My manager provides excellent feedback and ensures we communicate about what I need to be successful in my role. Schellman promotes professional development and encourages giving back by offering VTO (Volunteer Time Off ) in addition to coordinating a day that the entire company volunteer. While the benefits are amazing, it's the culture here that fulfills me. I feel welcomed; I feel like I belong; and I feel valued and appreciated.
Cons
I can't think of anything to mention.

Positive work culture Great co-workers Benefits Work-life balance Dedicated Auditor model Not Big4
Cons
Not a ton of opportunity for moving into internal service delivery. Funded by PE, subtle influence of high profitability and growth which can put a squeeze on the core values of the company as a whole.

Amazing Company - Awesome Leadership
May 16, 2023 - Manager in Dallas-Fort WorthRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
After spending years in another industry, changing my career path to Schellman has been so rewarding. The company culture is unmatched with a true inclusive feeling. And, not just from a DEI standpoint (although that is top-notch) the amount of transparency from the CEO down amazing. In addition, leadership actively asks for employee feedback and address and implements feedback received. For example, parental leave was recently expanded due to employee feedback. Benefits have been enhanced, including a $1,000 bonus at the 5-year mark.
Cons
I'm a 100% remote worker, and sometimes I really miss the office environment where employees are able to chat and bond a little more.

Schellman has really ramped up its efforts to keep in touch with the growing or changing needs of its team members through open channels of feedback and surveys. This has resulted in ever-improving and refining the benefit offerings available to brand-new and tenured employees. As we've grown and matured, great care has been put into hardening a strong foundation and Schellman remains to be an exciting place to propel your career.
Cons
Growth and change always come with challenges and Schellman is no different. Maintaining the best-in-class culture and deliverables has been challenging in our current times and growth. However, Schellman is starting to better flex these new muscles and the benefits of this are falling into place.

Competitive pay and time away from work benefits Responsive to employee needs and suggestions Supportive, learning focused culture Commitment to best industry practices across departments Diverse employee base and female centric leadership team Professional development opportunities Family-friendly work policies and practices
Cons
Not necessarily a con, but Schellman is still building out its practices around variable pay and bonus structure- which makes for a bit of an unknown dynamic to total annual compensation
