    Pros

Positive working environment, important work, rewarding financially. The company truly took care of the employees.

    Cons

That there wasn't an office in the state I moved to. I loved working for Sebesta.

I worked at Sebesta full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people were awesome, frequent paid lunches, work from home possibilities, great location(s), benefits were great - 401K, ESOP, Tuition Reimbursement, Reasonable medical/dental.

    Cons

Since being acquired by NV5, everything at Sebesta is changing and going down hill. Benefits from NV5 cost more and are more restricted, tuition reimbursement is gone, the inner workings of NV5 are chaotic at best. All Sr. Leadership at NV5 cares about is acquiring the next company. NV5 doesn't even close out an acquisition before signing the next one or two. They are extremely understaffed and are losing great people because of their incompetence and lack of communication.

    Advice to Management

Dickerson Wright, you may be the Chairman and CEO but please heed some advice: listen to Rob Costello. Rob actually listens to his employees and can balance out business needs/success while increasing employee satisfaction. this can help NV5 TREMENDOUSLY. Put the brakes on the acquisitions, take inventory of your employees and staff accordingly. If you take the time to document things, put processes in place and standardize you'll save money, create efficiencies and become a better organization. I understand that you want to run lean, but a skeleton crew with people in leadership roles that are extremely under qualified and don't have a clue what they're doing is just going to get you into an SEC pickle or will contribute to your undervaluation when a larger company looks to merge/acquire you.

    Pros

Has a lot of potential and excellent technical services. Great clients and project experience portfolio. Lots of good client relationships. Effective management of some service areas.

    Cons

HR and upper management focus too much on financial performance to detriment of good environment for employees to feel trusted and fully vested

    Advice to Management

Focus on all employees, professional management, empowering staff, better communications between employees and supervisors, and giving constructive feedback on regular basis.

I have been working at Sebesta full-time

    Pros

As a long time employee, I have seen first hand how our previous management teams tried to advance Sebesta in the Consulting World, and although they didn't fail, we did not meet our expectations, and if anything, we have moved backwards as compared to our competition.
NOW, I can say I am very excited to see the energy and enthusiasm of our new Management Team, it is obvious they understand what it takes to get us over this speed bump we have been stuck behind for the past several years, I honestly believe that 2016 will be the year that Sebesta moves to the next level

    Cons

Being a mile wide and 1/2" deep (geographically) can create opportunities, but in the end, it also creates too many chances to fail

    Advice to Management

Probably to a fault, we as a company consistently try to meet and exceed the goals of our clients, sometimes this puts us in a position of perceived failure, nobody likes to be part of a bad project, so lets do a better job of selecting clients and projects that will be a success

    Pros

Great culture and work/home balance. Challenging work and professional development growth. Trusted Mgmt.

    Cons

Risk adverse and still growing and improving their internal processes. Need more depth to resources

    Advice to Management

Maintain the core value of trust and keep staff as the number one asset, followed by clients

Don't fix what is not broken, just continue to improve.
