I have been working at Securitas full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you’re flex, they’ll kind of work with what hours you need.

    Cons

you have to pay for your own license. You never know where you’re going to be stationed until just an hour before regardless of distance and wind be told how much you get paid til then as well. People are really seniority based and secretive. If you aren’t higher up, they don’t tell you anything ever. People talk crap from associate to associate and everyone you go to will make fun of your job. Not recommended for someone who need to know what’s going on and/or has low esteem.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your associates and actually let them know what’s on. Especially when you tell them suddenly that today’s there last day at a place they became regular to.

Not much but you do get benefits.

    Cons

No vacation time or sick time.

    Advice to Management

There should be some paid time off.

I have been working at Securitas full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you are new to the security industry Securitas offers training, and a G.E.D. assistance program. They also provide several paths to advancement.

    Cons

If you apply yourself, report to work on time, and follow Post Orders there aren't many Cons.

    Advice to Management

The entry level employees host a wealth of untapped talent.

I have been working at Securitas full-time

    Pros

Growth within company, global company so opportunity everywhere, benefits are pretty good

    Cons

The pay because it's contract and dictated by clients, and the hours because it's required to be on site

I have been working at Securitas part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great Human Resource
    Opportunistic company
    Great start

    Cons

    •Poor management
    •Favortism
    •Uneven/unequal opportunity

    • This company is perfect if you want to get the feel for a security job as a first job, just got out of high school, type thing. But to live off of this job you have to work countless hours for minimum pay. Depending on how managers feel they may out you at a high oaying site with minimal to no work, if they like you, but if you’re just a regular joe they will put you at a site with hard work and little pay, or a site with no work AND little pay. Another bad thing about it is that they also swipe hours off your check. You can work 70 hours and recieve pay and be missing 40/70. Then when you ask for your hours back that “mysteriously” went missing, they tell you “we will expedite it” or you will have to wait until next paycheck to recieve them. Thats if you DO recieve them. They can be real inconsiderate and inconsistent playing with people’s money who live from paycheck to paycheck.

    Advice to Management

All for one and one for all

    Pros

Full time positions, free uniform, easy hiring process.

    Cons

Hardly any room for growth, mundane tasks, good for someone who is retired or new to the work force.
