    An enjoyable work environment!

    Pros

The atmosphere is friendly, fun (random nerf and laser tag battles). The organization of projects is very clear and structured. No official hours, so you can modify your work schedule a little bit around your life schedule. If help is needed, just walk down the hallway to a co-worker and they will be happy to assist you! There is room for advancement and growth, especially as the company changes to meet the needs of clients today! Sharp also likes to bring in employees that are excited about their work and enjoy challenging themselves! Working with smaller clients allows for direct content with clients if needed, even if you aren't the project manager.

    Cons

Lots of the projects are for smaller companies, and doesn't allow for too much exposure. Sharp doesn't have a large profit margin like some other companies may, as most clients are smaller, but this allows for a safer loss of a client as they are not reliant on any one client in particular.

Great entry level company to work for.

    Pros

Great friendly people, fast paced work environment, great benefits: matching IRA contributions, 2 weeks vacation available on day 1, 3 weeks after 3rd year, good health plan (ppo)

    Cons

lower-than-average salaries for web designers and developers, senior management likes to micro-manage, senior management doesn't grasp concept of production schedules. Budgets are micromanaged and new office amenities and software require a lengthy "approval process" which is mostly used to surf the web and find a cheaper price, and if one can not be found - request is denied. For developers, production schedule is usually 50% or 75% of the estimated time for a project - this is completely arbitrarily decided on in order to make the end-contract price more attractive to clients.

Not the best, but not the worst either

Aug 28, 2012 - Web Designer in Lancaster, PA

    Pros

Work hours are flexible and the insurance coverages are descent. Great opportunity to grow if you are an entry level designer.

    Cons

Short deadlines, not enough time to "build-out" websites but more than enough time to design them. The management think they know a lot about design but are shocked when you tell them that the whole business is falling behind on the trends in the industry. The owner is completely out of touch of what is going on and is rarely in the office. It doesn't give you a good sense that he really cares what is happening with his employees.

Fun and focused place to work.

    Pros

Super-flexible work schedules, great people, fun office environment, dedication to doing good work and always pushing to do better. Also, a really good place to learn from people who know what they're doing.

    Cons

The company works hard to provide high value services, leaving little room for exorbitant profit margins. So the company provides exceptional benefits (generous time off, good health care, company-matched retirement, office fun days, flexible work hours, etc.) in trade for big-city pay scales.
