I have been working at SolarWorld (More than a year)

    Pros

No-stripes meeting philosophy, high degree of collaboration, attempts to help maintain good work-life blend. Friendly work environment. Free coffee. Food truck in permanent residence.

    Cons

Persistent silo mentality. Lean seems to just be a word to describe healthy meats. No apparent accountability for high-impact mistakes.

    Advice to Management

Overall a good management team. Try to set expectations a little higher.

I have been working at SolarWorld full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits were good for a lot of years.

    Cons

They don't pay well, and when you get a raise it's 10 to 15 cents. I've been there for many years and when they decide to have a layoff, a lot of the long term was let go. Then they require us to report to work to be told to go home. They have been screwing employees for 9 years. No wonder they have failed as a company

    Advice to Management

Stop the favoritism and reward the hard working employees.

I worked at SolarWorld full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It is a good place for a Highschool student but not for a long time commitment. As soon as school is over quit and walk away, you will be better off working elsewhere or going into the military. Hours are pretty cool but it is easy to get complaisant.

    Cons

Safety is nonexistant. Electrical safety is a joke with no formal procedures or training to perform any work. I am honestly amazed that the factory is still open and no one has died.

    Advice to Management

Stop pooping on our longterm employees. You need them more than you need "experienced technicians." If you do not understand this than you will fail as a company and as a manager.

I worked at SolarWorld full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good vacation program, decent healthcare benefits and dental insurance. Course if you're not a white man you will be a temp forever and not qualify for any of those things. Yea, rly don't have anything nice to say.

    Cons

An extremely sexist place and frankly dangerous for female employees. There is no way to move up into a better position. The operators are mistreated. The female technicians are constantly insulted. Human Resources is a joke. It's a completely racist and sexist environment. Within the first hour of working there I was groped by an older male employee, and nothing was done by HR. The pay is way too low for graveyard shift. You have to be white and male to be taken seriously. I was written up for not smiling enough. Keep in mind this is a graveyard, no customer interaction whatsoever, production line job. Basically I was written up for not flirting with management. This place is a joke, it's unsafe, it's a sweatshop in disguise. If your a white male bachelor looking for something to pay bills and get production experience, go for it. If you want a decent job with future options, ethics and work values, look elsewhere you can do better and deserve better. Unless they have drastically changed in the last 6 months, Don't work here. It's a terrible company run by terrible people. Worst soul sucking, two faced, pathetic excuse for a job I have ever been a part of. They should get sued and go out of business.

    Advice to Management

Stop mistreating your employees, stop giving people raises and management position who have no training. Work on your management.
