    Pros

Easy work, fast-pace everyone receive top out pay when hired.

    Cons

Union job, and union is with the company. They really looks out for the warfare of the company, not the employees.

    Advice to Management

If you have mechanical background, advancement into management is fairly easy.

I worked at Southern Tea / Harris Tea full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are better jobs all over Atlanta! Southern Tea is a nightmare!

    Cons

You do not start at top out pay. They start you at $10 an hour for a probation period of six months to a year. You are forced to work overtime because paying you time and a half is cheaper than paying the other hourlys

    Advice to Management

Stop treating employees as objects. We are human.

    Pros

Free tea. A desk with a broken chair that was purchased at a thrift store.

    Cons

The entire culture is just plain mean. Management treats people in disrespectful manner. There seems to be, from the top of the organization down, if you won't put up with this we have 30 other resumes.

    Advice to Management

Be nice? Be caring, treat your employees with respect? Unfortunately they don't think this way and are unlikely to change.

I worked at Southern Tea / Harris Tea full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get paid. If that's all you need and expect you will probably be OK.

    Cons

Micro managing leadership team who uses a very coercive management style - "only one way to do things and you better do it my way" type style. Most staff there are miserable and hate their jobs but don't think they have other options. Leaders don't believe in having any type "fun" at work. Absolutely no flexibility in work schedules or how you do your job. I had a sick child at home, and even though I did work from home they still wanted to dock my pay. No extra effort is given - why would you when no one appreciates what you do? I stayed 2 years but that was 2 years too long. Plant is unionized and hourly employees only do as much as they have to do to keep their job. Be careful! Low pay and no opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Give some latitude to employees on how things are done. Show some appreciation. Be flexible. Compromise. Allow some fun at work.

I worked at Southern Tea / Harris Tea full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It is conveniently located in western jersey in close distance to Rt 38 and the Philadelphia area.

    Cons

There is absolutely no review of the tea bag lots. There is no inventory system in the warehouse where any customer can come in and see the location of their stock. there is no means of handling cutomer complaints and recalls without a batch record

    Advice to Management

The competition does everything correct in using batch records of tea bag lots and not using individual papers for each component. the competition know where customer stock is located with an effective computized inventory system
