I worked at Springfield Clinic part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very nice offices & clinics. Friendly co-workers, most physicians are approachable. Pay is appropriate. Hours are great (no weekends)!

    Cons

Medical benefitted are not the greatest, considering the company is a medical clinic. Due to Illinois state economics SC is facing difficult times with state insurance payments being tens of millions in arrears.

    Advice to Management

Watch expansion, its going to make things tight everywhere else

I worked at Springfield Clinic full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You learn who is the good , the bad , and the very bad physicians and nurses of Springfield Clinic

    Cons

There are several wonderful gifted people that work there but unfortunately the management cares more about making the almighty dollar then truly what is best for the patient!

    Advice to Management

Quit counting the money and start letting physicians treat their patients like they should be treated with dignity and choosing the best and most crucial treatment available and NOT what makes the clinic more $$$

better train your managers, the employee should come first, because they take care of the customer; everything falls in line after that.

    Friendly atmosphere
    Knowledgeable staff
    Nice facilities

    Cons

    Medical plan isn't the best

    Advice to Management

This is truly a great place to work. Employee input pertaining to managers/directors should be evaluated more closely. HR should also evaluate the reasons why employees leave. The turnover rate in departments should also be evaluated.

I worked at Springfield Clinic full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

profit sharing, large company, many departments and opportunities if you have the right credentials and are favored by the right people
worked with some very nice people, and some great providers, terrific patient base

    Cons

administration, self-funded health insurance favoring their own providers for best rates, which seems unethical and illegal, plus it doesn't cover things very well,
health insurance is managed by KBA which is a JOKE really considering how severely they have failed the SC employees

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and give them the benefit of the doubt, especially in cases where you have no reason not to trust them
If you plan on selling the SC Way, then make it apply to everyone equally or else it means nothing
