I have been working at Structural Integrity Associates full-time

    Pros

Open culture, strong technical expertise, autonomy, great compensation

    Cons

Not too many cons. Communication can be a challenge given the numerous offices and employees are spread out.

    Advice to Management

Continue developing employees and reinforcing what makes the company great.

    Pros

    Great Managers - HR sucks

    Cons

everything and some, I even had to do my own background check for them. The director of HR falsfied my documents and never once contacted my prior employers. I know because I called them when I was already hired and they said not once did HIRERIGHT or HR call. I even had to do my own background check for them. Advice to Management

tell your HR dept that lying about an employee due to a personal conflict is illegal and border line discrimination - Also it should not take 5 women to do HR for less than 300 employees. Talk about wasting the company money on salaries, when they are never near a phone or email to handle things timely.

    Pros

very smart people were involved during foundation years of the company as like any other successful small business. Success is not just luck :).

    Cons

now full of average folks or glorified analysts who has no BD idea forget about vision.....many thinks they know all and what works in nuclear/fossil may work in any industry if they push hard...snobbish thought---they don't believe in preparing for winter---could have been a versatile company

    Advice to Management

sell the company asap before loosing all value.

    Pros

SI has a culture where employees care about each other and go the extra mile. There is a high standard for excellence and service. At the same time we like to have fun. The changes in leadership over the last few years have made the company even stronger. SI continues to attract strong talent. I am excited about the future and look forward to the future.

    Cons

Given the geographical distribution of offices it can be tough to communicate with employees and management. The additions of new technology have made this challenge easier recently.

    Advice to Management

In my opinion management is transparent in their communications. I like how they send out Total Compensation Statements each year. I appreciate the time they put into developing or enhancing programs. They should continue doing these things plus educating employees on how the business operates.

    Pros

Great company to work for. Strong family culture not found with many larger organizations. For the most part, the upper management really seem to care about your future and growth.

    Cons

Management can be a bit scattershot at times. Sometimes lacks a clear direction or someone willing to take a stand on a decision that would be beneficial to the company in the long run. Need someone to make hard decisions.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, but not to the detriment of the company. Direction and guidance must come from on high, and this was lacking in several cases.

    Pros

great people to work with, great support from team mate, some technical leader in industry. Great place if you do not care about

    Cons

poor compensation, career development very difficult, lot of politics in order to be promoted

    Advice to Management

compensate people, stop favoritism. Wonder why all the young Phds left?

I have been working at Structural Integrity Associates full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great team of people, very knowledgeable, and always available to help. Great place to learn. People are here to support you if you need help.

    Cons

Compensation is below average, work/life balance is poor, you will work week ends, holidays and a lot of hours for little reward: a lot of compliment for sure but that does not pay bills. Opportunity to evolve is really limited. this is due to the industry more than the company.

    Advice to Management

try to keep the employee you have. The people you train are a great value to the company but worse less if they leave. You are losing all the talented and ambitious individuals and left over with the people who do not really care and just come to work to get the pay check.
