Pros

the company mission to help Vermonters power their lives with clean energy is inspiring and its nice to work in a company with a social mission. The staff recruited are fun, talented awesome people to work with.

Cons

Senior Management have chosen to promote some folks who just dont have buy in from the ground but do from the executive level for some reason, all new jobs that offer growth for existing staff seem to be filled by new people. there is little career progression or opportunity to grow within the organization. the company relies to heavily on its better than average benefits package but underpays on salary. the company relies on its early reputation for being a best places to work, but each year, it loses rank because they don't listen to staff, they don't learn from their mistakes and grow, they silence staff and ask you to work harder.

Pros

Great coworkers, and a cool culture. Learned a lot, but management is ineffective.

Cons

Doesn't live up to the hype. No clear advancement within the company. If you are ok with working the same job while building new skills, without possibility of promotion, then this place is ok.

Pros

Great colleagues. Fun crew. Some of the kindest people I’ve worked with. Stress is high, but if you’re a curious self-starter you can learn a lot in the process. Solar is a fast industry and SunCommon is pushing it to the limit. Good short term job to learn on-the-job skills, network, and then have a good resume to move on.

Cons

SunCommon is a flat company. Strong at hiring, weak at nurturing and retaining their talent. They hire eager, engaged young people then ignore their professional aspirations once they’re on staff. Pay (including benefits) is not competitive within Vermont. Burnout is high. Employees are under a lot of pressure to succeed with aggressive goals and initiatives always changing. Company culture has greatly suffered with growth. Company is disorganized and management is struggling with rapid growth and merger.
