I have been working at TPC part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

TPC Sawgrass in an amazing property with a really outstanding group of people in all aspects of the organization. It's relaxed yet very professional. Proud to be a part of this family

    Cons

Members can be a little demanding and cheap

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing

I worked at TPC part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Food, some nice people, golf free, candy bars when you want, members usually cool, easy to clock in and out, get a small workout every shift, tips, great view, weddings (if organized) end up looking good

    Cons

Managers refuse to incentivize their exploits.
Managers choose to underpay employees in order to make budget.
Managers create extra work when they give employees the incorrect instructions. (2xTPC)
Managers disrespect others even after being told.
Kitchen staff, with some/few exceptions, are hard to work with.
Members are troublesome. Many leave overserved and drive home.
    Disrespect.
    Neglected supervisors.
    Furniture crumbles in your hands!
Tips are shared among EVERYONE (even if they are not working that night)
CARROUSEL of food and beverage directors AND Event directors.
    Condescending people everywhere you look.

    Advice to Management

Buy a punching bag, new furniture, and earn some respect in a respectful way. Quit playing bad music in the kitchen.

I worked at TPC part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great members
    Beautiful building
Career connections that allowed me to graduate from college and go to work for one of the members

    Cons

Upper Management that is never there to answer questions and when upper management is there, will not take the time to listen
Make us fill out employee surveys on sight while being in the same room
    Carousel of food-n-beverage directors
Empty promises of getting to play on the golf course
    Horrible employee food program
It is high school all over again with the clique of some employees as some are treated different than others
Promises of a new swimming pool and new patio being built for the members but every year "something comes up" to prevent it from being fulfilled
I cannot count how many times I have seen members and guests being overserved and then driving away

    Advice to Management

Why not let us actually play on the golf course we work at?
What does it take to actually get a fresh made meal and not leftovers that are actually leftovers of leftovers

I have been working at TPC part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the best reasons to work at TPC are working with great people and as a team it makes he customer experience great.

    Cons

The only con I can think about is playing privileges are somewhat limited but that's understandable due to the fact it is such a busy course that the PGA tour comes through every year

    I worked at TPC part-time

    Pros

Because there is no management, you get to run the show. SOME members are great and tip well.

    Cons

Poor/no management and unorganized. Members rarely tip. Extremely high turnover rate for management. Everyone is underpaid

    Advice to Management

Hire a service manager. Care. Be organized and communicate to your staff.

    Pros

Great staff to work with and they provided some good benefits and fringe benefits. I worked at their Potomac course at Avenel Farm which was a beautiful course and was open to play and practice in my off-time.

    Cons

The money the forecasted in gratuities simply was not there. It was nowhere near as busy as they said it would be and the membership it mostly compiled of corporate members who don't know how to members of a private club. Most aren't even friendly nor do they acknowledge your presence.

    Advice to Management

Conduct better and more truthful interviews with potential hires. Some of their pro staff who interviewed me clearly had no knowledge of the department for which I would be working in and I was not given proper access to my direct supervisor in the interviewing process.

Great opportunities! Great Team, Good times,

    Cons

Dont work hard, they wont notice, Sit down and drink, have a smoke, just remember to cut out a couple bushes on your way to the shop at the end of your day

    Advice to Management

If someone works hard for you then work hard for them! or at least a sufficient amount

    I worked at TPC full-time

    Pros

Only pro is free lunch which is terrible half of the time.

    Cons

    Not flexible.
Poor management skills. Really only micromanaging.
HR leaks PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL information to other employees of the club.
    A lot of drama.
    Zero room for growth.

    Advice to Management

Get your crap together. Stop micromanaging. Stop defending the department heads that do not do their jobs. Listen to your employees. HR needs to stop spreading confidential information around. You are supposed to be a safe zone to employees, not a teenage girl.

I worked at TPC part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great staff and great part time job working with some excellent people in the 19th hole. Benefits are one of the best pros in my opinion if you enjoy golfing. Free year round play on the Valley course which is equally as tough as the stadium and limited play on The Stadium course after tournament. In addition, 35% off all food and merchandise.

    Cons

Some management views don't coincide with staff views, some management doesn't know when to cut employees from their shifts to give other employees opportunity to make more money later at night.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work, and start listening to your staff! Continue to execute the 360 degree dining experience for all members and guests!

I have been working at TPC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

At TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, the management on both the Golf side and Food and Beverage side at this golf course is amazing. The managers are very friendly and are flexible with employee's schedules and needs. The hourly pay is above minimum wage, but you can make almost twice that because of how good the tips are here. The work is fairly simple, sometimes its physically demanding, but overall, its easy money. And TPC provides its employees with amazing benefits at almost no cost and at a very low minimum hours per week to qualify for them.

    Cons

The work is almost seasonal because during Winter, hours are hard to get. But during Summer, you're almost over-worked because its so busy.

    Advice to Management

Work on the work/life balance. When employees are not schedule to work, don't call them in on their days off.
