Pros

Multinational company from Spain located in Seattle. Lots of opportunity to learn about the railroad industry that's if you see and capitalize on the opportunities that arise. You can learn necessary knowledge and skills, and they can be taken with you to better paying job just across the way. Benefits package is ok. Mostly friendly team-player coworkers.

Cons

Lower than average pay for industry. New employees for the first six months need to keep there mouths shut, there are a few sharks in the water smelling for a drop of blood. Poor management and leads. Typical little boy behaviors observed and experienced from leadership. Its obvious that a few of the managers and lead staff do not have professionalism in there management when interacting with employees. Information doesn't seem to flow smoothly down to where its is needed most, for the job to be done. Many times I cant get a straight answer on what to do when a problem arises.

Pros

Very little physical work

Cons

Maintenance software was switched from an excellent system to a complicated, disorganized mess in which everything is in Spanish. The select few workers knowing the prints, system, and schematics are from across the pond and are not willing to share or teach valuable information and program information. I am an extremely fast learner, grasp concepts quickly, and work very hard..yet I was given a crash course on day one and expected to pick up everything on the fly, which most would struggle with. You are expected to manage employees, give direction, and produce productivity, yet you can not reprimand any of your workers and have nothing available to hold them accountable when productivity is not reached. Pay is subpar and company expects extended hours, excessive overtime, and life commitment to the job with nothing in return. If you like being underpayed, overworked, and struggling in day to day operations than this is the job for you. Organized, structurelized, and valuable workers need not apply!!
