I have been working at Target Media Partners full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work is physically demanding, but rewarding. Lots of time spent on projects. You can work flexible hours (full time schedule) as long as the job gets done. Management trusts you to work independent of constant supervision.

    Cons

Management tends to cut jobs with no notice. Downsizing of my office and staff continues. Future growth and job security unclear.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing a great job!

    Pros

THERE IS NONE TO SPEAK OF

    Cons

These are the type of emails you can count on receiving every morning, this is only from one manager- you will receive several.. Not very helpful and this company will never admit that their solutions are not revenue driven for the client. They like to sell the VDP listings for their reason for that is that it is hard to track the results so the customer cannot hold you liable to it NOT performing!!!

This is a performance based business and you need to perform.

We are behind budget YTD so we need to get back on track.

Team Texas needs to be a top performer in the company and we are not even close

    Go get a sale!!!

    Advice to Management

How many good employees will you let go until you realize its not the sales person but the products/solutions that DON'T PRODUCE RESULTS!!!

I worked at Target Media Partners full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people at the local level to work with. Flexible hours. The products both print and digital could be great if they would only invest in them the right way.

    Cons

Regional managers and above all seem to play politics and refuse to see what's really going on. They think everything is so great but in reality there are many areas to improve upon. They don't listen to the sales staff that brings back feedback from clients. They are killing the print product that actually makes the most revenue and has HIGHER RETENTION! Instead of investing in it, they slowly take away locations and reduce the amount of printed books year after year because they are under this misguided belief that print is dead. It wouldn't surprise me if the owners were kept in the dark about this and were just told it's dying. This company was founded on print and upper management slowly weeding it out. It's very sad. They create a very negative environment. What truly kills me about this place is that they are an advertising company that doesn't believe in advertising who they are and what they do. Never made sense to me.

    Advice to Management

Embrace the products that you have including print and invest in them the right way. May I suggest you take a look at all your upper management people. They all seem to be YES people and refuse to stand up for those below them. All they do is lie instead of being up front about things that need to be fixed. In my opinion the best companies to work for and that succeed are ones that listen to the people that are out there promoting their products. Focus on the big picture verses being so narrow minded to kill the one thing that has had and could produce the most revenue. The company doesn't create anything that's theirs... They depend on and pay other companies to TRY to make a great product. You have the potential to be great again but you need to get rid of the dead weight in upper management that plays way too much politics. You will continue to lose great people that at one time really loved and enjoyed the company they worked for.

    Pros

VDP Power Listings is a Facebook product that drives users from FB to dealership VDPs and I sell at least one package a week. Super cool to look into a customer's CRM and see all the validation. My book is growing and my customers are happy.

    Cons

The corporate office is 3000 miles away in Hollywood, California – it would be nice if they had us out more often. I learned a lot from the senior management in our initial training out there and would like to go more frequently.

    Pros

Good but hard job. Products we sell are changing and improving. My boss is supportive and helps me sell. Training has improved and now helpful. Company seems better today than when I started.

    Cons

Demanding requirements. CRM everyday is to much. Low name recognition. No company marketing. Vacation and holiday time is weak. Miss an office environment.

    Advice to Management

Increase allowances for mileage, phone and laptops.
