    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Telefund full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

No background check no drug testing some commission

    Cons

No background check no drug testing, some commission. Bedbugs electric failure the emergency doors disconnected. The computers are older than 1980 and the dialer is the same.

    Advice to Management

Include a human resources department. Try to enforce a silver work environment. Approach upper management for open communication. Also building maintenance and working in the dark with no emergency exit and 50+ people for one available bathroom is questionable Also % compensation unclear to employees.

I worked at Telefund (Less than a year)

    Pros

The community is really fun and working with other students made the job bearable. The hours are pretty flexible if you're just looking to work a few shifts per week

    Cons

The work is very monotonous with little reward. Managers try to provide incentives which helps somewhat, but sitting on the phone for 4 hours straight begging for donations can get tiring

    Advice to Management

Be more understanding of phone calls that did not necessarily follow the script. There were times where I made a moral decision to stray from the script and I ended up being criticized for my decision. I understand there are guidelines but the exceptions to those rules less rigid

I worked at Telefund part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The ability to schedule your own hours; you can work as little or as much as you like.

    Friendly, helpful co-workers

    Cons

You are expected to make outbound fundraisng calls for several different non-profits; the main objective is to lock down (ie, get it on a credit/debit card) as much money as possible. Extremely high-pressure environment. You are evaluated every 20 hours, and if you're not performing up to their very-high expectations, you're gone, no matter if you've been there two weeks or two years. Minimum wage, zero benefits.

"They prey on those that want the world to be a better place."

    Pros

There used to be some pros. No longer.

    Cons

As a very good fundraise I did well at telefund. However the SB office management is pathetic/idiotic. The office was a microcosm of the company philosophy - do well your fine, then again - do well, get fired. Management plays favorites with those that are sub-standard callers, those that play nice and don't threaten the manager. However, if you're intelligent and very good you are seen as a threat and eventually you will get fired. Their "bonus" system is totally rigged. Anything they can do to save money (cut bonus' and hours) they do. The company is more interest in profits than the causes.

    Advice to Management

Hire some reasonably intelligent people to write scripts that are, at the very least, good. Pay a GOOD wage. Fire those managers that do more harm than good. Re-think your ENTIRE purpose.
