I have been working at Thrivent full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

The Financial Associates in this area are helpful for the most part. A great mission, and can create your own schedule

      Cons

If you are new and coming into this industry in the Madison area, be prepared to figure things out on your own as there is a lack of leadership in this area.

      Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Thrivent full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

Had the best manager ever at Thrivent. A lot of great people, great benefits and Employee Appreciation Events.

      Cons

They don't know how to grow membership. A lot of the FRS are horrible people who treat the Call Center employees like servants. The final straw was the micromanaging that drove good people away.

      Advice to Management

Focus on the culture instead of the dollar. Stop micromanaging. Listen to the feedback. Also, just because an FR is a high earner it shouldn't give that FR the right to abuse the employees.

Current Employee - Financial Advisor Associate
      Approves of CEO

I have been working at Thrivent part-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Autonomy over your schedule Representing a Christian membership organization Competitive products Ability to build your practice the way you want

      Cons

Insurance company where your short and long term success depends on your ability to sell insurance to your "natural market" (friends and family). No salary - commission only Unlimited upside seems nice, but even so the commission is better at other companies (assuming identical case size)

      Advice to Management

No advice It's an insurance company (with other subsidiaries you can represent). It's not unethical, but it's not for everyone.
