Pros

It's a cool product with lots of interesting challenges to solve. Making something that helps people live healthier, happier lives is certainly something to feel good about.

Cons

Office politics run rampant, and there has been a lot of turnover of high-caliber individuals who have been left frustrated by the old-guard's poor decision making and incompetence. Simply put, some of the leadership team are out of their league. They spend more time on trying to maintain their image/standing with the CEO instead of focusing on how to scale and improve the company/product (i.e. close-minded to new ideas, withholding information and shifting blame to other teams, downplaying team members' accomplishments and inflating their own, inability to make decisions, etc.). It was disheartening to see employee after employee join the company only to leave within a year after having enough. HR and the CEO are undoubtedly aware of these issues, but lack the backbone to actually do anything about it.

Management has serious issues to overcome

Pros

Amazing product and a team of people who are actually very passionate about not only the product but what they do.

Cons

There are major issues with senior management including obvious sexism against females in leadership roles. HR is aware after repeated incidents but has done nothing. In addition there are senior leaders managing departments they are simply not qualified to run. There is zero work/life balance and no attempt has been made to resolve this. In fact, the company makes a big show of asking for employee feedback but then not doing anything with this feedback or attempting to fix the issues.

Pros

- Great product, it actually improves people’s lives

Cons

- Management is not transparent with employees - After 2 rounds of layoffs the company culture is terrible - Some senior leadership has no experience leading teams - After layoffs some leaders were put in positions where they have little knowledge or experience - Upper management does not care or look out for employees - No room for growth or development (reviews and promotions happen infrequently and the process is inconsistent) - Very, very little diversity and no plan or commitment to change that - Conflict between teams, which can be distracting
