I have been working at VIntners Distributors full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Love my regular customers, free car washes every pay day. Easy tasks to do during a normal business work day

    Cons

People that are hired on and have no idea what they're doing make the same as cashiers that have worked with vintners for many years. There is no benefits and you are treated like an expendable. If you ask for a certain day or two off they'll treat you like you're asking for PTO or something and cut your hours indefinitely until they desperately need you to work FT again. They also give you mixed shifts like graveyard and days so you're in a constant battle with your sleep schedule and sleeping almost your entire day off. What also really downs me is how I get stuck with graveyard shift because nobody else wants to do it, yet MY hours get cut and I don't get better pay for be able to and doing way more than other people.

    Advice to Management

Be generous to your best employees before you lose them.

I worked at VIntners Distributors full-time

    Pros

You make your own schedule. You get Sundays off. You are paid hourly.

    Cons

Work week is over 50 hours. When you have call outs not many managers are willing to help each other find coverage. Little to no support from upper management. No chance for raise or advancement.

    Advice to Management

Provide some type of incentive program. Put some type of strategy in place to make sure regional managers are held responsible for their actions.

    Pros

Opportunity to take on multiple areas. Ability to learn retail and gas distribution from a wholesale and marketing perspective. Understanding the attributes of employees as they work with you to present new products to customers

    Cons

Lack of recognition and lack of solid tools to promote personal and associate skills. Political environment that is not up front about expectations for the postion.

    Advice to Management

Need to improve management skills and foster a since of team loyalty. Recognition to employees and understanding that marketing products to customers must be part of a team effort.
