    Pros

Hangars are air conditioned and snack machines have a nice variety.

    Cons

No communication, morale always very low, pay increase based on the buddy system, no opportunity for advancement

    Advice to Management

Find another line of work, you have failed us.

I worked at Vector Aerospace full-time

    Pros

The pay was good to start but raises are almost non existent. Three percent was the maximum and management would find any reason they could to reduce it to nothing. We were producing aircraft in record times and they still took away all our bonuses. Poor management from the Vice President has caused them to lose multiple contracts.

    Cons

Management is uneducated and make fundamental errors in decision making.

    Advice to Management

Go to school and learn how to be a manger, or at least get a life coach so you won't be as much of a jerk when dealing with other people. Learn how to value the opinions of others and stop trying to rule with an "iron fist".

I worked at Vector Aerospace (Less than a year)

    Pros

I made good money for the work I done. I had a very good work schedule and enjoyed working the hours and days that I was working. Benefits and insurance were very good.

    Cons

Wasn't treated very disrespectful by supervisor. Was cussed at by fellow employees and it was always a hard work environment in the department I was employed in. Before when working in a different area I was treated much better. I sought another job mainly because of the way I was being treated.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to treat employees so that they will feel appreciated and respected.

I worked at Vector Aerospace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    non to be named.
If you want to learn as a future leader/manager how to demotivate employees then join Vector.

    Cons

Dis-respectfull management to employees. Vector Values only applicable towards shop floor (P145 and P21J) as management and HR don't act in line with it.
No people skills of management and their priority to score to management more important then engineers. Minimum support to engineers and management ignoring engineers who has more knowledge as them due to experience.

    Advice to Management

nothing else then replacement as this kind of behavior you can not change in people

I worked at Vector Aerospace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Salaried employees are paid over time. Hours are somewhat flexible. Big company with a big budget, looks good on a resume. Good pay. Stock option program.

    Cons

There are so many layers of management it's impossible to figure out what's going on because they don't know what's going on. No communication between departments. I tried to mentor another junior employee to help him with career advancement and it was shut down. I worked there 3 years and had 5 different direct managers. Promotions were given to friends. Don't bother if you're a woman.

    Advice to Management

Great job with benefits and salary, work environment doesn't make it worth it.

I worked at Vector Aerospace full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The sea-air is about the only advantage and you get to see some cool helicopters up close

    Cons

Expect remarks from senior management that their wives don't have to work, the other candidate - they did not hire - was better suited for the role, etc.
Unless in writing (and even then!) they break any agreement they make e.g. retract flexible working conditions, opportunities, etc.
Long hours are routinely expected without any prior notice, micro manage.
Management has clear favorites poisoning the atmosphere for the other workers.

    Advice to Management

Be professional, give trust and in return earn respect, be less prejudiced, above all be inclusive.

I have been working at Vector Aerospace full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent working conditions and in the main a highly skilled workforce, one of the better paid companies in the Almondbank area.

    Cons

Very poor production management, almost to the point that the site would function better without them. Clueless in all disciplines that make a good management team.

    Advice to Management

Employ proven managers that are driven to succeed and not promote internally to the degree that has been evident in my time here. If the current management team continues,I fear for the future of this facility.

I worked at Vector Aerospace full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good salary for area and the terms and conditions are excellent. Health and safety focused and with clean working conditions.

    Cons

Weak management with no accountability for poor work or behaviour. More focussed on revenue than dealing with issues. Need fresh people with fresh ideas.

    Advice to Management

Change the people or change the people. Need to start moving out the "old" guard to allow growth.

I worked at Vector Aerospace full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Loved the work, benefits were good, able to bank overtime.

    Cons

Loved the work that I was doing, unfortunately, very political environment, backstabbing is common place. Very unhealthy work environment, long hours.

    Advice to Management

Treat your old employees to the same level that the new employees are held at.
Get rid of the dead weight,
Manage your managers and other employees.
