I worked at Weber Logistics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is no pros, unorganized and unprofessional. I don't know why I stayed as long as I did. There is no formal SOP or training.

    Cons

See pros. Low pay for lots of work. So many lay offs your job is not safe. This isn't a place to invest in.

    Advice to Management

Get training and train employees under you.

    Pros

Management is great depending on the location. Company has great intentions and promote internally.

    Cons

Departments within the office and admin are quick to throw people under the bus. You always have to watch your back and send emails to protect yourself. DC Manager I was under had two ops supervisors that went on stress leave! Within my first two months as a supervisor I was headed in the same direction. I went to HR and NOTHING was done! Luckily I was offered another job by a former (different company) boss of mine and took it.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and supervisors. There is a lot of workplace harassment that goes on and when one speaks it falls on deaf ears. If not taken care of this company can face a HUGE lawsuit.

    Pros

For the most part, the best reason is that it's a great place to start and learn about supply chain management. As an employee, you will be exposed to all facets of the distribution/logistics business. In addition, you get to work with everyone in every department and have an opportunity to see where you can fit in.

    Cons

Some of the downsides, is that senior management is slow at recognizing a good employees potential, but is quick to point out the bad.

    Advice to Management

Recruit the best people that you can find. Don't settle for less. Invest in finding the right people to do the job and promote from within! Recognize your employees often.
