    Negative Outlook

    Pros

salary is OK, benefits are OK, yet very slow to pay, slower to pay T&E

    Cons

extreme micromanagement, long hours, compulsory detail upon detail, weak business requirement gathering, punitive, management unengaged with players, worker bees.

    Advice to Management

hire Americans only.......Business Analysts, Project Managers, keep the Hindus in the back room, hire only non smokers. Wipro has made too, too many internal project mistakes, simplify!

    Pros

I spent most of my 3 months with Wipro waiting for something to do, which means I was being paid for no work. If this sounds like your dream job, then Wipro is the company for you.

    Cons

Wipro wanted me to fly from California to New Jersey for a 2 day orientation. They apparently have never heard of video technology that would save them the expense of airfare and lodging for new employees.

When I was briefly on a project, I completed the only task I was given with only 4 lines of Java code. I begged the project manager for 2 weeks for something new to do, but I never received so much as a response from him, either verbally or by e-mail -- and this was with an upcoming deadline!!!

    Advice to Management

Don't hire someone if you're not going to give them any work to do.

Consider video technology for your orientation. Skype is free, for crying out loud, and you'll save yourself a lot of money not having to fly people to New Jersey and put them up for 2 days.

Two words on communication -- DO IT!

I have been working at Wipro Infrastructure Engineering full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    1. One of the best Hydraulic cylinder manufacturing company.
    2. Best place for learning the Product development, designing, Validating,
         Manufacturing.. etc..

    Cons

    1. No recognition, no encouragement.
    2. Buttering the Managers/SPL's/ has become a trend to get good appraisals,
    3. Documentations are followed for the sake of audit purpose, Even management
is least bothered, they only look for the numbers of products dispatched/sold.
    4. Surviving on the great foundation put by some of the best employees, no
         innovations.
    5. Management doesn't care whether you stay in the company or leave the
         company.
     6. WIPRO believes in "EMPTY POCKET IN AND EMPTY POCKET OUT" its only
uttered during training sessions. No one cares whether you join from the
competitor or you go to the competitor or you bring competitors data.
    7. HR's doesn't interact with the employees who work at the ground level at shop
         floor, labs, R&D, PE, etc..
    8. I am not a frustrated employee, I have seen couple of good managers who really
took care of their peers and encouraged, motivated and involved in all projects.
    9. Present managers have least experience in Hydraulics and not bothered about
any projects, for them delivery it utmost important, whether the cylinder works
or fails. At least they should be ashamed while withdrawing their salary.
    10. Managers have an attitude that they are only paid for making decisions, I
want to tell you that making decision after the failure of the product is a crime.

    Advice to Management

    1. Take care of some of the honest employees who are really putting great
         contribution to the company's growth.
    2. At Least adopt fair appraisal system, don't consider the managers inputs for
appraisals, Managers are not gods and they aren't honest persons and never
give fair feedback on the team members during appraisals.
    3. "ALWAYS BE WITH THE BOSS & GET GOOD APPRAISAL" may be this slogan
is best suits the current situation.
    4. If possible check who's contributing for the company's growth and who's doing picnic in the company.
