I worked at XOS Digital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Nice people
    - Great for those who love sports

    Cons

While I was there, the company was going through a lot of volitile changes/restructuring. So there were many times where the good was outshadowed by corporate changes and firings.

I worked at XOS Digital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great office location in Orlando. Sports fans will enjoy working here. Great place for career movers and young professionals looking to make a name for themselves or cut their teeth in an exciting industry. The field of opportunity is wide open. If you stay long enough your boss WILL be laid off and you will receive more responsibilities and experience.

    Cons

The company sunk a LOT of money into building a class A office space in downtown Orlando, meant to house over 100 employees. Management then proceeded to lay off more than 1/3 of the employees destined to work at this office, most of whom had already moved/signed leases in a high-rent urban area. They paid rent on unused space for more than a year until finally subletting most of the space to another company. This is the type of decision making you have to look forward to.

The company is severely delinquent on royalty payments and owes money to countless vendors. The current leadership team has absolutely ZERO regard for your livelihood and will cut your job in a heartbeat if it will help them pay a bill. Your duties and responsibilities will be absorbed by the person under you who will receive neither increased compensation nor change in title.

    Advice to Management

CFO should be fired and probably investigated. If the company must move in a new direction, someone needs to step up and take it there. Don't explain cutbacks and layoffs by a need to "redefine focus" and then fail to provide any semblance of new focus. The new CEO is promising but he must relocate to Orlando if he wants to connect with the team that needs guidance the most. Consider consolidating Boston/Orlando into one office. Do just ONE thing right and reward those employees that are loyal enough to still work there after all that has happened in 2013

I worked at XOS Digital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Sports! Football! You are literally making product you see in national TV, internet. You get to live and work with a bunch of people who are just joyful to be around a vibrant, competitive culture.

If you get in a good spot, catch someones eye at the right time and level, you can get thrown promotions left and right.

Super flexible, can't believe how i was never fired.

    Cons

If you don't catch an eye, you can work the same job for 5 years and never get a review, bonus or raise... really. NOTHING. I got promoted to my boss' position and they refused to give me more money. Ridiculous. Even moved for the job.

Upper management changes often enough that they can't be very emotionally invested in the product or the company.(buyers and sellers, like flipping houses)

Unfortunately, business, corporate culture, employee morale have all been slowly, slowly dying over the past 2-3 years(coincidence with Tom Knapp arrival... NO)

Management never speaks to employees, don't know what they do, don't care.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of Dan Aton, Knapp, McCleary and the others. Listen to your employees, most of them have been here for longer than you have anyway. And, at least learn their names.

I have been working at XOS Digital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It looks like their flagship sideline product keeps them afloat.

    Cons

On-call hours, cranky irrational clients who think they literally own you.

XOS acquired a lease in downtown Orlando for a large amount of office space and spent money renovating. A few weeks before the move-in they could barely pay their bills and payroll, then laid-off 30+ employees. Management has their hands full in finding new sources of technology and revenue to grow the business from previous years but is severely lost in the dark.

    Advice to Management

It's time to retire or jump ship. This company doesn't have the management or direction to be a technology company, not to mention actually innovate new tech.
