Pros
We are a small group currently, and this gives us a lot of flexibility to explore very new and exciting ideas. Since I've been on-board our very young US arm of our Germany company has created a number of great integrations into our platform. We move fast, and it's great to see ideas turn into product and be part of that process. Having really smart guys to work and collaborate with is also a big plus.
Cons
The time zone difference between US and Germany is probably our biggest challenge.
Advice to Management
The environment is ideal for creating great ideas and seeing them come to life.

+ Fun startup culture and work environment: ping pong table in the office, snacks, open work space, lots of autonomy over your work schedule
+ Great team: Lots of communication and positive reinforcement
+ Great benefits
+ Awesome location: Tobacco Road Campus has a plethora of restaurants nearby, tons of outdoors space to sit and eat lunch, and right across from the Durham Bulls stadiumCons
Sometimes the office can be quiet because it's a small team and people have to travel a lot

Pros
My favorite part about working for Commercetools are the company culture and the people. The company supports a healthy work life balance. It's really awesome to be a part of a team that's changing the way e-commerce platforms operate. It is definitely an exciting time to be a part of the company!
Cons
None at this time. Commercetools US has more of a start up feel, so with that comes challenges but mostly a ton of opportunity and room for growth.
Advice to Management
Keep doing what you're doing! It's working. : )

Pros
I enjoy the freedom to define the processes and technologies that I work with on a daily basis. Each project I have worked on features a new and innovative approach. Well engineered product and well funded company.
Cons
Having parts of the team remote can be a challenge. Overall the US team needs improved communication between team members, partners and customers.
Advice to Management
Build a strong foundation that will lead to efficient and further growth in 2017. Continue to improve product features and keep the work place fun!

This is a young company with great leadership and it's evident that the people are there because they see great potential to be a part of something amazing. It's a great environment that is both rewarding and enriching. Great innovation and a roadmap for success!
Cons
Nothing so far. I'm sure there will be growing pains in the future, but this is a good problem to have.

Pros
commercetools in Germany is a pretty well established company, with 100+ people and solid financial backing. commercetools in the U.S. is a new subsidiary bringing commercetools's products to the U.S. market. It's a small entity but growing rapidly. Lots of opportunities to define your role. "Startup"-like culture but run by seasoned professionals. Nice place to work.
Cons
It's a startup. Not a lot of structure. Fast-paced environment.

Work-Life Balance. Acceptable salary.

Relationship between development and business leaders is bad.
No good management of projects.
Some people are not so friendly.
Study on your own: Very minimal training available.Advice to Management
Choose technologies that fit the team. Be more friendly with all (Don't sit alone without contact with developers). Invent a Project Manager position.
