Prepare to work 60-80 hours a week to be considered a team player, anything less and you are not pulling your weight

      Pros

Can be exposed to a wide variety of projects and clientele, if you are in a senior role. Opportunity to learn, though opportunities may not be within your field of interest or expertise. Technology ideas and platforms are very interesting. Some of the employees are true gems. Some great visions. Projects are often very interesting.

      Cons

Extremely long hours expected, without overtime or any form of tangible compensation - often due to lack of proper planning. A lot of take from you, with NO give. Inexperienced project managers running major company projects. Implementation and adherence to established project management principles is missing. Leadership skills are patchy across the board, with a mixture between great and abysmal. Too many inexperienced and inept directors and executives. Lack of professionalism at all level's. Middling middle management (aka directors). Massive ego's get in the way of team work at all level's. Flirts; brownies; family; and social butterfly's are promoted beyond their skill level. Lots of back-stabbing, and two-faced people. Little recognition of commitment and dedication. Highly stressful environment. Directors often do not pull their weight.

Good Company Not the right fit for my skills

      Pros

Great culture good tradition great tactical sales environment. Long tradition of creating good promotions at a tactical level for great companies.

      Cons

Not a great environment for stategic new business developers, will struggle in the years ahead as more automation arrives in the tactical promotion space with companies like Wildfire. Will need to create a better internal environment for long arc integrated solutions. They have suceeded in this with Coca Cola and Microsoft but need to adopt that approach across all teams

Incredible workplace culture. Mature software development process and exceptional leaders and colleagues.

      Pros

ePrize was my first professional software engineering job out of college. They worked with me from day one to develop my potential. I have to say although entry level salary is not ideal, the workplace culture is like no other to the point that I still miss being there. The people in charge of maintaining the software development process and shaping the architecture are leaders in the industry and can really help move you into another level of proficiency. Overall a fantastic opportunity that I wouldn't advise passing on.

      Cons

The area leaves something to be desired as its within 10 minutes of downtown Detroit (as of 2012). Advancement can be a bit difficult if you're not an absolute rock star, because those are the types you will generally be working with. ePrize will help develop you, but they expect nothing less than excellence.

      Not for the seasoned professional

      Pros

you will get lots of recognition for a job well done

      Cons

you won't get paid enough to work as hard as you do stressful work environment - not everyone truly takes accountability for their work and the overall workflow suffers and trickles down to everyone poor project management - too many tasks sourced to very few resources. people get burnt out and quality of work suffers very young environment - in essence it is like high school. lots of gossip and unprofessionalism you are thrown into the line of fire when you first start. very little to no training. if you aren't comfortable with taking serious initiative, asking questions, and dealing with difficult employees, you will not make it very far at all.

Worst job experience of my professional career.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

I worked with some great people. Some of the best in fact. However, none of these people were in a management position. There WERE some cool perks like free coke, lunchbox, massages, etc but all of these programs have ended.

      Cons

Work life balance is totally out of whack. Pay is less than industry standard across the board. Highly inept, untrustworthy, and sometimes borderline evil leadership. Also, people make promises on behalf of eprize with no authority to do so and not even the slightest bit of intent to follow through so if you don't have a legally binding contract with them and you are fully prepared to sue, but deal with them. Another thing, there is a lot of 'bad' press out there about them, mostly from former (or even current) employees. Now granted, if they are former, their views are biased but if you consider how many people are speaking out against this company, something has to be fishy about it.

Some great people At one time a great culture At one time a fast growing company with lots of opportunity Opportunity to work with fortune 500 companies if you are very lucky Flexible work life balance if you push for it

      Cons

Lack of vision Management lacks basic understanding of many business principles Misunderstanding of changing market Fear of conflict making it impossible to get things done Private company run like a public one Rampant nepotism/favoritism. Inability to measure or act based on measurement Will work you to the bone or let you sit and do nothing but does not act to manage the situation Politics are king, merit is an afterthought Titles rather than compensation

      Great People, Fun environment

      Pros

There are lots of smart people at ePrize, most of whom enjoy what they do. The environment is open and collaborative, and there are lots of opportunities to learn new skills, and grow within the organization.

      Cons

They let you play hard, but they expect you to work hard. This is not a "con" in an of itself, but it is worth noting that you need to be willing to put in the hours, and work extra hard for deadlines from time to time if you want to succeed.
