Today is International Women’s Day and the theme is ‘Choose To Challenge' as we can all choose to challenge to help create a more inclusive world. To celebrate, we spoke to some women at AND who are driving our business forward to find out what the day means to them. See what they said here >> https://bit.ly/3ejqMRS Let's all #ChooseToChallenge together.
Last week, we completed another round of ‘Introduction to Web Development’ courses with Code First Girls. Eight clubs from across AND were involved and we were able to upskill 247 women in the basics of HTML, CSS, Bootstrap and Javascript. At our core, we want to help close the world's digital skills gaps and we're delighted to share that 83% of the participants said they can see themselves having a career in tech after the course. It’s amazing to see how this initiative has grown over the last 12 months, with AND Digital having upskilled 366 women in total. We'd like to say a big thank you to all the ANDis who have got involved in the initiative over the past year.
This week, we?re celebrating Pride at AND, and the theme for this year is #ProudToBeMe. Although many Pride events have unfortunately been cancelled due to COVID-19, our network of LGBT+ Champions have curated a collection of virtual events for our ANDis. So, throughout the week, we?ll be sharing these virtual events and content with you our LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook pages.
Today marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme is 'kindness'. In times like these, when the world feels upside down, being kind has never been more important and can be key to turning things around. We’re committed to supporting the wellbeing of our people, so each day this week we’re shining a light on an area of mental health that may be more prominent as a result of COVID-19. We’re also sharing ways to support each area with our people, and encouraging them to show kindness at a time when it matters more than ever. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram for updates.
