Join us in celebrating BCC Engineering's 24th Birthday!
BCC's Bridge Structures group took a field trip to the steel box girder bridge flyover, a part of our Design-Build Project that will serve as the direct connection for the Express Lanes between SR 826 and I-75. This was a great opportunity for the engineers to access the interior of the box girders prior to it being open to traffic and learn about the design, detailing, maintainability and constructability of the bridge. A big thanks to Condotte America, Inc. and V&M Erectors Inc.
Happy International Women's Day from BCC Engineering! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQjYd
We are excited to have been selected to assist FDOT in carrying out the Department's TPO program for the Metropolitan Transportation Planning process in District 6. The primary products of the TPO include: Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), the Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) and a wide variety of other plans and studies.
Every quarter at BCC Engineering we hold CPR classes for our employees to promote safety in the workplace. We would like to send a special thanks to Bernie Montoya for holding these informative, but also fun and exciting, CPR classes! Thank you Bernie!
Another conventional design project is underway in District 4! BCC's role in this project will be to handle Traffic Control Plans and Bridge Structures as a sub-consultant to Metric Engineering. The project involves roadway construction from 2 to 4 lanes on CR 510 from 82nd Ave to 58th Ave, including bridge replacements, and a new bridge over North Prong Slough.
As prime consultants, BCC Engineering will be providing Civil and Transportation Engineering services to the City of Kissimmee! The project will include the design of minor roadway improvements, intersection improvements, sidewalks, shared-use paths, drainage improvements and miscellaneous site design.
Happy President's Day!
As a sub-consultant to M.C. Harry and Associates, BCC will take part in designing wayfinding signage for the Miami International Airport (MIA) and Miami-Dade County's System of General Aviation Airports consisting of: Miami Opa-Locka Executive Airport (OPF), Miami Executive Airport (TMB), Miami Homestead General Aviation Airport (X51) and Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport (TNT).
BCC's annual hockey outing took place last week as the Florida Panthers took on the LA Kings. Led by our South Florida Structures group, this event is just one of many where the BCC family gets to cut loose and share some good times together. Go Cats!
