BCC Engineering would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day!
BCC Engineering is proud to be part of the design team selected for the FDOT District 4 Las Olas Boulevard improvement Project. This is a highly visible project traversing Las Olas Boulevard through a busy and fully developed commercial and entertainment district in downtown Fort Lauderdale. As a sub-consultant to Caltran Engineering Group, BCC will be responsible for the utility coordination, drainage and miscellaneous structures design. This project will add to the roster of projects that BCC has successfully completed in similar urbanized corridors.
BCC couldn’t be happier to welcome two very special members to the family. First, Mari Q. Colina returns to BCC as our new Creative Director. Mari will lead the creative efforts associated with marketing and branding. We also welcome Alfred Lurigados, PE as Senior Vice President. With 21 years in the industry, his most proud accomplishment was serving the public for nearly 10 years at the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) as Deputy Executive Director / Director of Engineering. Alfred and Mari, we welcome you to the BCC Family!
At BCC we are very proud to have participated in Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day! A nationwide learning program that allows students to explore career industries, from ideas about their futures and learn what it takes to be successful in a business environment. We put together a number of fun activities for all ages from coloring, drawing to building roadways and bridges from pasta! This was a truly exciting and a productive day!
Thank you to the City of Doral for awarding BCC Engineering the "Professional General Engineering and Architectural Services" contract as its prime consultant. This is BCC's third consecutive selection for this service. Under this contract, BCC will be completing multiple assignments related to planning, engineering and construction management/inspection services. We are proud to continue to provide quality work to the City and include them as one of our valued clients.
BCC Engineering is getting ready to begin design services on our SR 50 project which includes widening SR 50 for approximately 9 miles in Sumter County. The project consists of widening the existing two-lane rural roadway in to a four-lane divided highway to include the design of two roundabouts. The project will include minimization and mitigation of environmental impacts to wetlands and floodplains, and coordination with the Withlacoochee State Forest.
Congrats to our Tampa Structures group on winning the FDOT Districtwide Continuing Services contract for District 7! BCC will provide structural engineering services as a sub to Patel, Greene, & Associates, PLLC (PGA) relative to bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, signal structures, sign structures, and other structures.
Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Construction crews from our friends at the DeMoya Group are hard at work on the HEFT. Here are a few photos of the drilled shaft foundation construction for our HEFT Design-Build project from Killian Parkway to Sunset Drive. These Non-Redundant drilled shafts are for the bridge widening over Sunset Drive.
Another project with Central Florida Expressway Authority is underway! BCC is a Subconsultant to Metric Engineering, handling Structures and Utility Coordination for Lake/Orange County Connector Feasibility/PD&E Study. The study will assess the viability of a new connection as a toll road project under the CFX Master Plan policy for new projects as a system expansion. It will serve present and future developments in West Orange and South Lake Counties, in particular, the Wellness Way Sector Plan communities and Horizon West Villages, as well as provide a new regional connection between US 27 and SR 429.
