Complementary Therapies Uplift Patients at Concord Hospital – Laconia On a December morning, Lotte, a pet therapy dog, brought smiles and comfort to patients at Concord Hospital – Laconia, while a Certified Music Practitioner performed soothing music at their bedside. These offerings are part of Patient and Family Services' programs available at Concord Hospital – Franklin and Laconia. It is exciting to grow the complementary, holistic services available at our Franklin and Laconia campuses,” said Director of Patient and Family Services Kourtney Soucy. “Programs like Pets Uplift People and therapeutic music provide care for all aspects of a patient’s well-being. We look forward to building upon our therapeutic programs and services.” Pets Uplift People is a volunteer program that offers therapeutic dog visits to select patient care units. Therapeutic music uses harmony to support emotional and physical healing and is generously funded by community donations and grants. One patient shared that after a session with a Certified Music Practitioner, it “brought unexpected joy and healing.” These programs reflect Concord Hospital Health System’s commitment to caring for the whole person — body, mind, and spirit.
