At Dext, one of our values is Be Together. We're excited by the shift towards remote/hybrid working and the conversations it's sparked about redesigning how we work. But this new world of working, where we spend a lot of time apart from our colleagues, has challenged us to think more purposefully about how we can continue to connect our people. Which is why we introduced 'Volunteering Together', an initiative that empowers our people to take 1 paid day every 6 months when they can step away from their desk and volunteer with their colleagues. Not only does it give people a chance to connect with each other, but they also connect with local communities which supports our people's wellbeing. How's it going so far? Our UK People team spent the day cleaning a local beach and our team in Toronto put together 80 boxes of produce at a foodbank for people in need. We're excited to see what other ways our people give back in 2022!
With the new year approaching, we're thinking about new ways to celebrate our people. At Dext, we love a celebration - product launches, promotions and newbie bakes gives us plenty to get excited about. And we believe that it’s equally important to make time for non-work related celebrations. So starting 1st January 2022, we’re giving everyone at Dext the gift of time, with a day off on their birthday. Our people work exceptionally hard and this benefit is our way of saying thank you. Everyone will celebrate the day differently, while some people spend it with their nearest and dearest, others prefer a little “me time”. But however they chose to spend it, the important thing is that people take a rest from work and focus on themselves.
