For the fifth consecutive year, EvergreenHealth has been named one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades, placing us among the top 1% of hospitals nationwide. EvergreenHealth Receives Leapfrog Fall 2024 ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade 12 consecutive “A’s” - 6 years in a row (2019-2024)! Once again, EvergreenHealth has been recognized by The Leapfrog Group with an ‘A’ safety grade, recognizing our exceptional care and unwavering commitment to safety, every day at every point of service across the organization. This achievement marks our 12th consecutive, establishing a six-year streak as a standard of excellence in patient safety. The Leapfrog Group's Safety Grades assess nearly 3,000 general acute-care hospitals nationwide twice each year. Each hospital’s grade reflects over 30 national performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, and other supplemental data sources. With the announcement of the Fall Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades there are now only 13 hospitals in the country with Healthgrades America’s 50 Best Hospital designation, CMS 5 Star, and Leapfrog ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade. Resolution No. 944-24 – "This award honors Jeff Tomlin, MD, who served this community for more than 30 years and served our country for more than 40 years with the steadfast support of Merrie Tomlin, RN, BSN (retired). The couple are lifelong residents of the hospital district. "Dr. Tomlin led initiatives to improve patient care and develop comprehensive safety and quality programs. Under his leadership, EvergreenHealth joined the top 1% of health care organizations nationwide for patient outcomes, and his commitment to emergency preparedness positioned the organization to respond quickly to the first large community outbreak of COVID-19 in the U.S. His dedication to quality and safety, with the support of his family, leaves an enduring legacy. Throughout his distinguished, 20-year career with EvergreenHealth, Dr. Palazzo has embodied our culture while demonstrating his skill as a physician and strong, relational leadership. According to Dr. Palazzo, “Very few communities in the country have access to the breadth of exceptional health care services provided by EvergreenHealth right in their backyard. The last several years have been incredibly challenging for the organization, both clinically and financially, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftereffects.
