Fitzroy Dawkins, M.D., joins Forma as VP of clinical development. We’re thrilled to have his experience in hematology, clinical trial leadership and drug development. Welcome, Fitzroy!
“Can” is the enemy of can’t and the ally of hope. “Can” keeps our future selves on the hook. Forma’s purpose is to transform the lives of patients with rare hematologic diseases and cancers. We can do this.
To reinforce our patient-centered decision making, we're thrilled to welcome to our board of directors Wayne Frederick, M.D. In addition to his post as President of Howard University, Dr. Frederick is a practicing physician, experienced medical researcher and person living with sickle cell disease. He brings to Forma's board a personal dedication to the search for new and better therapeutics and a deep understanding of patient needs.
We just celebrated 13 years of Forma, as well as our recent listing on Nasdaq on World Sickle Cell Day. Thank you to the patient communities at the center of every decision we make. We are also grateful for our incredible team and our colleagues and collaborators in the biotech space. Take a look at Forma by the numbers and hear our CEO Frank Lee's perspective.
We at Forma are proud to celebrate and show solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, not just this month but every day. Even while at home, we stand together. As a company, we are fostering a vibrant community that leads with compassion and respect. Our people and their perspectives are critical to our work.
Respect for people of all races, beliefs and backgrounds is part of our Forma core values. We condemn the acts of violence and hatred that have transpired in our country. As a community, we must work on being stronger together. Turning this moment into momentum, we commit to diversify our perspectives and to use the resources that we have to champion real change. We at Forma recognize that this is a challenging and dynamic time for everyone in our local community, and we have been finding ways to share hope and gratitude when we can. From food and meal donations to law enforcement and hospital workers to cards for the elderly, we are proud to give back. Our team worked with the staff at Watertown’s Brigham House, a nursing home in need of some comfort to ease the isolation its residents are feeling. We hope our homemade e-cards spark joy for these community members in need. While our lives have been temporarily disrupted, our focus on our purpose remains steadfast. Meet Jayne Allison, our HR and Benefits Administration Manager. Jayne's been with the company for almost 12 years and she recently returned from a two week vacation. After 10 years, all FORMA employees receive two weeks additional vacation to commemorate their anniversary.
