On Thursday, April 4, Austin Schmidt, health coach with the Genesee Community Health Center, talked to Linden Community Schools staff about the prevalence of opioids and the importance of learning to use Narcan. Genesee Community Health Center teaches Narcan training every month and will also bring the training to your workplace or organization. This is a free service to the community.
The 2024 EDGE Conference took place on March 22 to educate, guard, and defend the elderly from exploitation. The event was facilitated by the Genesee County Sheriff's Office, the Elder Abuse Alliance, and Genesee Health System.

Brian Nicholson, LMSW, manager of Behavioral Health Services at Genesee Community Health Center, said GCHC will provide a certified Narcan trainer to Linden schools and an initial supply for those who attend the training. GCHC has offered naloxone training to the Genesee County community free of charge for many years. They offer online training, in-person training, and training in the community.
