With Goodyear’s Global Week of Volunteering coming up, Goodyear Chairman, CEO and President Rich Kramer takes a moment to highlight the importance of volunteerism and caring for our communities across the world.
Goodyear is extending its worldwide innovation network to include Mcity, the University of Michigan-led public-private partnership to advance connected and automated vehicles and technologies.
The award, presented on May 3, also distinguished Goodyear for its commitment to achieving excellence in collaboration with SIA.
"The Goodyear Highway Hero Award has honored truck drivers who have rescued children from drowning, pulled injured people from burning vehicles, saved law enforcement officials from attackers and more,” said Gary Medalis, marketing director, Goodyear. “Every truck driver we’ve met through the Goodyear Highway Hero Award program has been just that: A hero."

The Manufacturing Institute will honor two Goodyear associates at the sixth annual Women in Manufacturing Science, Technology, Engineering and Production (STEP) Ahead Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 10. Lori Miller and Jennie Tinney will be recognized as STEP Ahead Honorees for demonstrating leadership and excellence in their respective industries and communities. Goodyear is proud to have them represent the company at this year’s STEP Ahead Awards. Congratulations, Lori and Jennie!
Goodyear was awarded with the “Environmental Achievement of the Year” at the 2018 Tire Technology EXPO in Germany for its development and application of soybean oil in the tread compound of tires. Soybean oil replaces petroleum oil in two new Goodyear tires - Assurance WeatherReady and Eagle Enforcer All Weather.
Laura Thompson, Goodyear’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, will be the featured speaker at the Women’s Endowment Fund of Akron Community Foundation’s “For Women, Forever” annual dinner on March 6. This year’s event celebrates the fund’s 25th anniversary of empowering women and girls throughout Greater Akron.
At the Chief Learning Officer Exchange in Dallas, TX, Goodyear’s Director of Global Learning and Development, Travis K. Brewer, led a panel discussion on the evolution of learning and development.
