Proper investment in nursing is what is needed and not empty executive platitudes, says Rebecca Love, MSN, RN, TedTalk speaker and chief clinical officer for nurse staffing company IntelyCare. Speaking exclusively to Becker's, Ms. Love said the persistent narrative of a labor shortage in healthcare misses the point, with an all-time high of about 5 million qualified nurses in the country.
Many nurses have retired or leave the profession altogether, and now it’s getting worse. But one national staffing agency with nurses in Orlando is trying to turn it all around, saying they’re digging deeper than just hiring, and going as far as to help the nurses that were on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic with resources they need to have much longer careers than the average shelf life of about two years.

We had the most incredible time celebrating our IntelyPros in Philly at our second annual IntelyStars event! We held a day of education and career enrichment, wellness fair, had our IntelyStars gala at The Franklin Institute, and of course did a little dancing. We heard so many inspiring stories and it was so wonderful celebrating our nursing professionals who work so hard all year. Thanks to all of our amazing IntelyPros for all that they do.
