How can technology and innovation enable hospitals to better coordinate care, improve patient outcomes, and enhance overall efficiency? Top perioperative leaders from Northwell Health and Sharp HealthCare joined us at #AORN2024 to walk us through how they’re reimagining the OR with da Vinci surgery. One key insight from Aaron Macoskey MBA, MPAS, PA-C, program director of System Robotic Surgery at Northwell Health: “We identified barriers in terms of system accessibility and the competency of our care teams. In 2023, we successfully integrated 31 out of the 34 additional systems into our operations. We provided training to over 125 members of our care teams and credentialed more than 40 new da Vinci surgeons. As a result of these efforts, we delivered equitable care to our patients and realized 39% programmatic growth in 2023.” Innovating our way to better patient care—that’s Intuitive.
At the intersection of healthcare and technology, surgeons like Kathy Huan, MD, find efficiency, cost savings, and increased access to robotic surgery for patients who need it most. Scaling solutions for better patient care—that's Intuitive.
Our Thoracic Oncology Mobile Experience—purpose-built to advance the awareness of how Intuitive technologies help reduce the time from lung cancer diagnosis to intervention—recently visited the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. Together, we strive to increase lung cancer screening rates among those eligible in Florida and across the U.S. Technological advances in minimally invasive lung care, such as those provided by #IonByIntuitive, are only part of the answer. Care starts with screening—and we will continue our journey across the U.S. to help spread the word. Click here for important safety information: https://lnkd.in/ehV7ehkk
“I couldn’t believe it—it was a dream job, exactly what I was looking for but didn’t think existed.” Joses Jenish Smart joined Intuitive because of a shared vision: leaders here saw the potential of radio frequency identification (RFID)—the technology Jenish had been studying for years—to transform manufacturing. “If you can use an RFID tag on a water bottle or a laptop,” Jenish says, “Why not a medical instrument or accessory?” Intuitive agreed. An RFID pilot in Sunnyvale led by Jenish and Venkata M Mahesh Komati exceeded their initial target, improving tracking efficiency by more than 50%. As Jenish explains: “It used to take a technician an hour and a half to scan each individual barcode for all of the raw materials. With RFID, they can do it in 15 minutes. That’s especially critical because Intuitive’s products are so popular; our demand is outpacing our supply. The more efficient we can be, the more customers we can serve and the more patients they can help.” Head to our Careers Blog to hear from Jenish and Venkata about their work on RFID so far, and the “dream” of bringing RFID to Intuitive factories across the world: https://lnkd.in/ed4ydkvi #WeAreIntuitive

“When I talk with CEOs and other hospital leaders, of course they talk about the product and how it helps patients—but what they’re also excited about is the Intuitive team. They’re so proud to be working with these smart, helpful partners; they tell me, ‘This person you have in our OR is amazing. Don’t ever take them away!’” The pride Dirk Barten has in his team at Intuitive Europe is clear—as is his passion for growing Intuitive’s business in new markets. That growth means an incredible opportunity for people joining the Intuitive Europe team in this moment. “In a fast-growing organization like this one,” Dirk says, “someone who is willing to master our fundamental competencies and grow with the company can have a lot of doors open to them.” Hear more from Dirk on why the future of Intuitive is so bright: https://lnkd.in/eUi_7VsR #WeAreIntuitive
Intuitive’s events aren’t one-off occasions. They serve to kickoff conversations, ignite inspiration, and empower attendees. As a company that’s determined to advance what’s possible, we love seeing surgeons and healthcare professionals take what they’ve gleaned during our gatherings and use it to impact their communities. Since last year’s Women in da Vinci Surgery Symposium, attendees have hosted their own local events across the globe. The U.S. Mexico. Ecuador. Peru. Brazil. Turkey. And counting. These empowered women are empowering their peers and the next generation—collecting data, engaging in multi-specialty discussions, and growing their robotic practices. Empowering yourself and others—that’s Intuitive. https://lnkd.in/e8PBf2f9
